Match of the Round - Wests Scarborough (1) v Kalamunda (4), at Bennett Park, Doubleview
Round Three: Wests Scarborough 37 defeated Kalamunda 27 at Hartfield Park, Forrestfield.

Wests Scarborough will look to maintain their perfect record when they play host to fourth place Kalamunda in the Pindan Premier Grade Match of the Round at Bennett Park.

Wests flexed their muscles for the rest of the competition in Round Nine with a 45-point demolition of Perth Bayswater, 62-17. The Boars ran in a massive 10 tries including a hat-trick to winger Jordan Luke. The ladder-leaders will look to bring that same attacking intensity to Saturday’s match in what will prove a much sterner task.

Kalamunda have been the surprise package of the season so far and are now two games clear in fourth spot after a convincing 16-point triumph over Cottesloe, 40-24.

The Bulls will look to claim their fifth win in-a-row and inflict the Boars with their first loss of the season. ‘Kala’ are a much improved side from the team that fell to Wests by 10 point in Round Three and will be confident of causing an upset in enemy territory.

Wests Scarborough: 1. Chris Kidd, 2. Conrad Houkamau, 3. Ant Usmar, 4. Matthew Obrien, 5. Rory Walton, 6. DJ Ferris, 7. Keith Andrews, 8. Hayden Anderson, 9. Michael Marshall 10. AJ Alatimu 11. Jrome Lennaed-Tekanawa, 12. Saula Fifita, 13. Sheldon Tarawa, 14. Jordan Luke, 15. Albert Nikoro.
Kalamunda: 1. Aaron Minnet, 2. Mark Royal, 3. Roy Kuka, 4. Matthew Dessauvagie, 5. Nikau Rangiwhetu (c), 6. Russell Burgess (c), 7. Lukas Birch, 8. Leo Auvaa, 9. Ryan Black, 10. Preston Elama, 11. Faamanatu Apineru, 12. Tama Makamaka, 13. J'None Tuitavake, 14. Douglas Cordadine, 15. Daley Harper.

Associates (3) v Perth Bayswater (10), at Allen Park, Swanbourne
Round Three: Associates 66 defeated Perth Bayswater 5 at Pat O’Hara Reserve, Morley.

Associates will look to continue their strong run of form when they host Perth Bayswater at Allen Park on Saturday.

‘Soaks’ currently sit in third position after outlasting Joondalup in Round Nine, 36-27, to claim their fifth win of the season.

When the sides last met in Round Three, Associates stormed their way to a 61-point victory. With only points difference separating themselves and fourth-placed Kalamunda, the Swanbourne club will have their sights set on another big win this weekend.

Perth Bayswater are still on the hunt of their first win of the season and will be striving to cause the upset of the season when they travel to Allen Park. After a few solid weeks, ‘Baysie’ then suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Wests Scarborough last weekend but will be keen to get back on track come Saturday.

Associates: 1. John Ogilvie, 2. Tabbie Du Plessis, 3. Andy Lawrence, 4. Matt Leary, 5. Peter Trend, 6. Dean Taylor-Menzies, 7. Michael Polastri, 8. Al Rovira, 9. Justin Turner, 10. Hugh Norcross, 11. Casper Nell, 12. Altus Momsen, 13. HP Momsen, 14. Tebita Sifa, 15. Robbie Ingram.
    Perth Bayswater: 1. Neil Boland, 2. Chris Temple, 3. Adam Grant, 4. Ngaruhe Jones, 5. Jonathon Stanley, 6. Douglas Grey-Hull, 7. Jake Buist, 8. James Elaschewsky, 9. Troy Mete, 10. Ollie Clements, 11. Reuben Haile, 12. Kolia Konelio, 13. Jesse Scheck, 14. Reuben Haile, 15. Wayne Thompson;

Palmyra (8) v Joondalup (7), at Tompkins Park, Alfred Cove
Round Three: Palmyra 26 defeated Joondalup 13 at HBF Arena Sportsplex, Joondalup.

A link to the LIVE STREAM of this match can be found here.

Palmyra will host 'Blue Day' when they take on Joondalup at Tompkins Park this Saturday. Blue Day aims to provide support and raise awareness of Muscular Dystrophy and the Duchenne Foundation.

After a promising start to the 2015 Pindan Premier Grade season, ‘Paly’ have dropped their last three matches – most recently a 20-point loss to Nedlands, 41-21. Sitting precariously in eighth position but just three points outside of fifth, Saturday’s clash could prove pivotal in the context of Palmyra’s season.

Joondalup will be intent on notching up their fifth victory of the season after pushing Associates all the way in Round Nine before falling just short, 36-27. The Brothers closed the gap to just two points with five minutes remaining but were unable to finish the job, but will took to bring that same intensity to Tompkins Park this week.

Palmyra: 1. Joe Savage (c), 2. Michael Tui, 3. Hamoira Tioke, 4. James Simpson, 5. Jarrod Menary, 6. Josh Everett, 7. David Hull, 8. Onehunga Havilli, 9. Brian Jurisich, 10. Sam Jurisich, 11. Nick Els, 12. Ramon Davis, 13. Vinnie Booiman, 14. Panashe Kamhara, 15. Tutere Waenga.

Carlos Waretini, 11. Michael Connolly, 12. James Wepener, 13. Maalonga Konelio, 14.Tamati Young, 15. Lui Guivalu.

UWA (6) v Cottesloe (5), at McGillivray Oval, Mt Claremont
Round Three: Cottesloe 31 defeated UWA 7 at Harvey Field, Cottesloe.

UWA will look to string together their third straight win when they take on fifth-placed Cottesloe at McGillivray Oval.

UWA have hit some form in the last month with three wins in their last four outings, most recently a commanding 14-point win over Wanneroo, 30-16 – however, three of UWA’s wins so far this season have come against opponents below them on ladder. ‘Uni’ will be intent on showing they can match it with the sides above them as they climb steadily towards the four.

Cottesloe will look to pull themselves out of a slide with a victory in enemy territory. ‘Cott’ have dropped their last five games after going down to Kalamunda, 40-24, last weekend. The Gulls have been a mainstay in the post season over the last few years and will need to good result in Round 10 to stay in touch with Kalamunda (4) and Associates (3).

Wanneroo (9) v Nedlands (2), at Kingsway Reserve, Landsdale
Round Three: Nedlands 41 defeated Wanneroo 5 at The Foreshore, Nedlands.

Nedlands will look to notch up their ninth consecutive victory when they travel to Kingsway Reserve to play Wanneroo.

‘Neddies’ have been in dominant form in the last few weeks and easily accounted for Palmyra in Round Nine, 41-21. Sitting just two points behind ladder-leading Wests Scarborough, Nedlands will look to claim another win and continue to snap at the heels of the Boars.

Wanneroo will be intent on giving their loyal fans something to cheer about this weekend and cause an upset against high-flying ‘Neddies’. The Roodogs were beaten by UWA in Round Nine to the tune of 14 points and will attempt to bounce back for their third win of the season this weekend.

Very interesting round, but what is with the redraw for eternity round 1 and 2 have mirrored each other. Why the change?
Wests - Kala. Wests to win a close one. But it wouldn't be a surprise if Kala snuck in by a few points.
Soaks - PB. Soaks but not by as many as you would expect.
Paly - JOB. Paly to win, JOB not as physical as other sides Paly have played recently so some of their flashy players might do alright. Having their Skipper back will help.
Uni - Cott. Cott by a couple.
Neds - Wanneroo. Neddies by plenty.

If the job wasn't big enough being a winger at Baysie and grasping at shadows all day, Reuben Haile has to cover both wings, that's very harsh.

Kala to scrape past Wests by less than 8
    Soaks by 10-15 points
    Pally by 5-8 points
UWAs backs to be too good for Cotts backs.Cotts backline defence down the right wing is non existent, forward packs about even. UWA by 12 points. Hopefully Uni are enjoying paying top dollar for the 2 ex Kala boys.
Nedlands to keep rolling along, should scrape in by 35+.

You guys won't get within 20 points after your resident cage fighter gets sent off for another brain explosion in the first 5 minutes. Heard he has been cited against Cott and appears at the judiciary Wed night.
Seems like a bit of a circus when a player who knows he's going to get rubbed out can go out this weekend and basically go ballistic because he's got nothing to lose.
Had the same crap when Cott's Robbie Able was allowed to play us and had to appear the next week after Joondalup left it's citing too late and he started serving his 5 week suspension the week after.
Now the cage fighter might be found innocent because he is a adorable cuddly angelic type but his record is not what you would describe as exemplary and on the very good chance that he does happen to get up to a bit of no good and does a bit of damage to any of our players will Rugby WA accept the blame and be liable for any claims that may arise after knowingly let this player continue to play on after he due to some obscure reason does not have to appear before the judiciary until a week and a half after and gets to play a game in between.
This is a total fuck up and I can only hope that we have assistant referees with the required mental fortitude to call it as they see it instead of shying away from the big calls.
Rugby WA are leaving themselves wide open to all sorts of scenarios

Wests Scarborough 1st Grade juggernaut has played finals rugby each and every year since its inception and continues this remarkable feat yet again this season and unbelievably it's still rolling on and as an added little circle jerk for the masses Wests actually hold the record for the current longest unbroken finals record.

As a cold wind blew across Bennet Park, I was about to call the season, and call it undefeated for Wests, and I thought "what could improve this team...?, and it came to me in a flash - this team could only be better if the ever generous Rugby WA gifted Wests a number of top calibre Force players for the rest of the season wouldn't that be great.

Force fringe players or not, there was no way Kalamunda was going to win today!! Kalamunda has plenty of quality players but quite simply the depth nor the fitness is there to be top 4 from what I saw today

    Wests 37-10 Kalamunda

Wests defence, fitness and relentless breakdown work proved too much for Kalamunda with the Boars playing some very good rugby to earn the bonus point win. Wests backs came ready for the threat posed by Kalas wide play with some very impressive defensive structure and a good trust in their structure and strategy. Some very poor field kicking by the Kala boys lead to some good long range attacking raids by Wests leading to points on more than one occasion. Also Kalamundas refusal to take at least one shot at goal from the multiple penalties within kicking range proved costly with skill error after skill error relieving the accumulated pressure. 15-18 points were left out on the field by Kalas lack of confidence in their goal kicking. Kalamundas desire to go wide at costs needed to better balanced out by the forwards doing some more work through the defensive line with Wests drift defence all too easily shutting down Kalas wide men. Wests replacement flanker in the 18 jersey brought some very impressive physicality to the game with 2 absolute bone crunching hits in d. Kalas points came late in the game when Wests were already over 30 clear.

Can you expand on that Ralto, you obviously know something I don't. Do we have to increase our massive recruitment budget yet again.

I don't think the score reflects the game Ntt
After following the posts recently I decided to watch was called the game of the round
Disappointing to see the amount of errors which could not all be put down to pressure but to the desire to play belter skelter rugby
The first 3 tries were from terrible decisions to throw the ball wide to no one at all with Wests picking up the scraps
The desire to compete with Wests backs and run your forwards ragged doesn't help
Wests are vulnerable if you build pressure and retain possession through the middle
Wests bigger cowards spend most of there time in pods out wide with there looseys doing a lot of the work they spread across the field and enjoy the contact pilfering the ball all day
Tight 5 are lazy and enjoy watching there looseys do all the work
Kala have a decent forward pack that should have gone straight up the guts having there big losseys running one off to bring those lazy Wests tight five closer in to create more room out wide when the opportunity presents
The half back replacement made a big difference with his reading of the game and willingness to keep it tight which brought kala back into the game
The persistant line out calls to the back of Kalas line out must be a coach killer as there was no excuse for the poor throwing which cost kala a lot of position and possession
The refusal to take penalties in front of the posts is bewildering when you need to build pressure and one penalty turned into a 7 point try to Wests on half time
To beat Wests you need to maintain possession build pressure around the breakdown do not enter into a Fiji still backs game
Play a up through the middle game waiting for your opportunities as they appear
There is room to move outside as long as you suck all there forwards in
Sometimes entertaining rugby needs to be put aside and just Dow hard work which will bring reward
