WA NAMES ALCOHOL.THINK AGAIN WOMEN'S STATE TEAM

    WESTERN FORCE MEDIA RELEASE
    Monday, 1 June 2015

The 2015 Alcohol.Think Again Women's State Team was announced to contest the Australian Rugby Union’s National Women’s XV’s Championship to be held in Sydney in June.

The Western Australian squad was named at a team fundraiser proudly sponsored by Southern Lions Rugby Union Football Club over the weekend, and will be co-captained by the Cottesloe pair of Bec Clough and Gillian Forde.

The two-day championship will be hosted at Sydney’s St Ignatius College, Riverview across from Tuesday, 23 June to Friday, 26 June and will provide players an opportunity to impress ahead of future Wallaroos and Women’s Sevens selection.

“I’m delighted to have two great leaders in Gillian [Forde] and Bec [Clough] to help lead the state team, and I’ve been very impressed with the team’s desire to learn.

“As the tournament nears, we know there’s a lot of work to do on tactics, unit skills and core roles but it’s great that we can focus on those things now that we have finalised our squad.”

Not only have they won last year but they are unbeaten so far.... would be good to know if it is just the names been attributed to the wrong club or for some reason none of the players from the strongest team have been selected....

Well actually, that sounds like a decent idea for a State trial match, Wanneroo Vs the Rest of the West.

No Wanneroo players? 2 of the 3 girls who played at last years World Cup for Australia not in the side?

Bit of a mistery that one. Anyone know anything.

Congrats to Kalas Ana Hohaia and the 6 former Kala girls now playing for Pally.
