Connolly called back to 'coach' Reds

The Reds, struggling to stay off the bottom of the Super Rugby standings, sent an SOS to former Reds and Wallabies coach John Connolly.

Connolly will join the Queensland-based franchise coaching staff as a consultant from Monday, in advance of their home game against the Rebels.

He will be contracted to the Reds for the remainder of the 2015 Super Rugby season and for the 2016 Super Rugby season.

    The full article is here

So they pay a full-time coach and, instead of booting him, they pay a consultant to come in and mentor that fella?

Mentor someone who has coached at national level, 2 NH provinces & 2 super provinces over what, 10 years?!?!?!?!??

The fact that he needs a mentor at this stage of his career HAS TO BE DEFINITIVE PROOF HE'S A COMPLETLEY SHIT COACH
He should resign out of embarrassment

Anyone with a brain and any self respect would definitely resign now! As an aside, I found out this week that Graham's manager sits on the QRU board......

Really? That strikes me as a massive conflict of interest.

WTF seriously. Can no one in QLD rugby see a problem with this? Duelling banjos up in the red north. Everyone's related.

Maybe we could ask the ARU for the equivalent funds to stay of the bottom of the ladder too.. we could do with a few bucks to splash on some mentors

True, Grahams manager sits on the board. The same guy is involved with John Ealeds organisation.
