And yes, I was down there, was a good game.
Seen the disk - not to detract from Joondalup - Brothers had a plan (usually provided by coaching staff), players followed the instructions, Result - good win.
Baysie (adding tight fitting blast suit), OK, where do we start? - they're a young team (some of them.....,maybe?), based on the sound effects - it was windy. Joondalup had a few different guys from the week before video, "Buck for Anything" didn't start, neither did the Shrekster don't know if that was a plan, but mobility worked for Brothers.

Baysie seemed to have no plan as a team, nor idea individually what to do. Lost tight heads, own throws, kicking game was worse than the Forces on its worst day. The backline D was all over the place. As for direction, after a half time discussion, the team played worse in the second half. Brothers could only play the team set out against them, and they did well, I had them down for sixth this year, maybe 5th if they can keep the momentum, and the playing stocks up.

Playing like that, there's no way Baysie will beat Wanneroo, or anyone else, if you took home a pay packet home from Pat O'Hara on Saturday, and you think you earned it, god bless you.

Wests Scarborough 1st Grade juggernaut has played finals rugby each and every year since its inception and continues this remarkable feat yet again this season and unbelievably it's still rolling on and as an added little circle jerk for the masses Wests actually hold the record for the current longest unbroken finals record.

    By Fraser Smith

Wests Scarborough posted their third win in as many games with a 37-27 victory over a brave Kalamunda outfit in the Pindan Premier Grade match of the round yesterday.

In a seesawing contest, Wests Scarborough dominated the opening 20 minutes, scoring the first two tries of the match before the Bulls put on three of their own to take a 19-15 lead at halftime.

The visitors regrouped and controlled the second half through clinical work at the breakdown and slick hands in the backline. The Boars ran in three second half tries to clinch the four-try bonus point.

Wests Scarborough coach Dwayne Grace said his side knew they would be in for a fight against a strong Kalamunda side.

“Over the last couple of weeks we have been slowly building and today was another test for us,” he said. “We knew Kala were always going to be hard at home and they fought right to the last minute.

“We knew it was going to be a really physical game and there are a lot of sore boys right now from both sides.

“When we got behind in the second half the boys stuck with our systems and played what we had practiced. They just kept coming at us but we knew we could win if we trusted in what we’ve been learning.

“Credit to the boys, in a really tough game they stuck to what we wanted to achieve. We were focused heading into the break with three wins under our belts and I’m happy with where we are it this point in the season.”

Wests Scarborough shot out of the blocks, immediately putting pressure on the Kalamunda defence. A clean line break from the Western Force’s Brad Lacey set up Pierre Roberts to run in under the posts for the first score of the match.

Back on the attack, Wests Scarborough took a quick tap spinning the ball wide to the Western Force’s Rory Walton, who capitalised on an overlap scoring in the corner. The conversion was missed giving Wests and early lead, 12-0.

With the game starting to drift away from them, Kalamunda struck back almost immediately regaining the ball off the kick off and caught Wests on the back foot with No.8 Auega Seumanutafa breaking three tackles to score next to the uprights.

Albert Nikoro steadied the ship for Wests Scarborough, slotting a penalty to take the lead to eight points, 15-7.

Determined to play down in Wests’ defensive half, Kalamunda capitalised on their good field position scoring twice in the last five minutes of the half through Preston Elama and Tama Makamaka to take the lead at halftime, 19-15.

Wests quickly closed the gap through a successful penalty from AJ Alatimu bringing the score to 19-18.

The Boars put multiple phases together before swinging the ball from one wing to the other for Jordan Luke to touch down in the corner. AJ Alatimu converted from the touchline for yet another lead change, 25-19.

After giving up an easy three points to the Bulls right in front of the posts, Wests struck again, through a bustling run down the blindside from Lorenzo De Villiers to lead 30-22.

With just ten minutes left to play, Seumanutafa barged over from two metres out for his second and gave his side a chance, bridging the gap to 30-27.

Although, a brilliant lineout steal from Walton set up Angus Taylor to seal the win for the Boars finding a gap in the Kalamunda defensive line. Alatimu converted to take the score to 37-27.

After 80 minutes, Wests Scarborough left Hartfield Park deserving victors, dominating the contest despite leaking some soft points late in the first half.

In yesterday’s other results, Cottesloe accounted for UWA, 31-7; Palmyra defeated Joondalup, 26-13; Nedlands were too strong for Wanneroo, 41-5; and Associates overpowered Perth Bayswater, 66-5.
