    Foley 'set to quit Wallabies' after RWC

    Wallabies five-eighth Bernard Foley is reportedly set to quit Australian rugby after this year's World Cup to play in Japan.

    News Limited reported on Friday the 25-year-old will turn his back on the Waratahs and hence his Test career to take up a two-year deal with an unnamed Japanese club.

    Foley is, however, said to be in talks with the Australian Rugby Union about representing Australia in Sevens rugby at the 2016 Rio Olympics in between seasons in Japan.

    The World Cup in England and Wales finishes at the end of October after which Foley would head to the rich Japanese Top League.

    That competition runs from August to March; the Rio Games will take place from August 5-21 next year which would allow Foley to play in some of the lead-up Sevens tournaments.

    Over the past few months, Foley's Wallabies teammates Adam Ashley-Cooper (Bordeaux) and James Horwill (Harlequins) signed contracts to continue their careers overseas after the World Cup.

    Will Genia, Quade Cooper, Kurtley Beale and Israel Folau are amongst Test stars said to be eyeing off the big money on offer in Europe and Japan.

    Yeah. Our depth takes a massive hit.
    Because unfortunately it installs Beale as tahs 10 and then puts him right in line to do it again for the wallabies.

    I'm not sure everybody will agree with you and I on that point Jargs. He was ridiculously required to defend his Wallabies jersey against pretty much all comers last season. There's just something going on between him and the Wallabies Selectors.

    With Karmichael Hunt and James O'Connor now on the radar, along with a host of fresh young faces like Debresczini(sp) in Melbourne, he will be forced into the ridiculous position of having to prove that he's the best option at 10 for the nation......even though that is so obviously the case that blind Freddie would pick him.

    No that works well. "Our" Foley will quit. In time for the 2016 pre-season.

    As should every last one of them. All the time. If your reasoning is correct he's a quitter. Doubt that. If he wants to give up the jersey so easily, after such a short tenure, good riddance.

    Based on Hunt's 1st half performance against the Nags, there's no danger there for Foley! Good to see Richard Graham's coaching ability hasn't diminished!

    If we are going on one half, Pocock already has the 7 shirt back. Everywhere man.

    If foley goes be prepared for him to be there or there or there abouts next year
    Beale has shown he isn't an international flyhalf. Cooper would be the incumbent. Sias isn't an option, JOC is seen as an outside back.
    Rebels are unknown and toomua would be on tour too.

    He's gonna go well in rugby. Am calling it early

    1= cooper
    2= toomua
    3= possibly hunt

    I've only seen the 1st half so far and Hunts biggest problem is that he gets the ball with no momentum and plays with a team which is used to Quade ripping their arse out of the fire by playing insane rugby. I don't think I learned anything about him so far, maybe the second half will change that.

    He does have a good boot on him, and looked to be a talker, maybe he should be looked at for a role at fullback.

    Hunt looked OK today. Threw decent balls, attempted to take it to the line, but unfortunately the Reds gave him nothing by way of good attacking structure or go-forward ball. But I'll say that he looked more naturally comfortable there than James O'Connor has.
