    The Badger is coming back.
Cult winger Nick "Honey Badger" Cummins will return to Western Force for the 2015 Super Rugby season.
The Force will announce his return today after long and delicate talks with Japanese club Coca Cola Red Sparks.
The Force had deliberately kept the final spot in their 35-man squad open, hoping Red Sparks would let the Wallabies winger return on loan.
The Force have been negotiating a return with the Japanese Top 14 club and Cummins' management since they released him on compassionate grounds at the end of last season.
Cummins, who made 74 appearances for the Force and scored 16 tries in seven seasons, will be back in Perth early next year as Red Sparks are unlikely to make their finals series.
His fitness will not be an issue even though he has not had a huge amount of game time, being used mainly as an impact player from the bench.
Cummins signed a two-year deal with Red Sparks and was so keen to return to the Force he even offered to sign for a third season if the Japanese club would release him for next year.
Coach Michael Foley and chief executive Mark Sinderberry have made no secret that they wanted Cummins to return.
Cummins will be a key player as the club aims for maiden finals appearance in its 10th season.
He is a huge fan favourite and will be a big game-day drawcard.
Cummins looked to have been lost to Australian rugby because the ARU refused to help the Force with a top-up to keep him. He was not on the ARU's top pay scale.
The 27-year-old moved to Japan after he was released from his contract and signed a lucrative deal believed to be worth $700,000, a massive amount to help him provide for his family.
He had become increasingly supportive of his family since his father Mark was diagnosed with prostate cancer last year.
He also has two siblings, Joe and Lizzy, who have cystic fibrosis and are cared for by their father, who is single.
Cummins thought his 2015 World Cup dream was over when he left the Force but his return will make him eligible for the Wallabies.
