    Employment Law/Lawyer

    Hi TWF community

Having recently found myself on the wrong side of a redundancy notification, I have a few queries to raise with someone who knows about such things.

If anyone is, or knows of, a legal specialist in the area of employment, I be much obliged if you could PM me so I can take my queries where they need to go.

    Thanks!

You might want to talk to someone in HR unless you're looking at taking the company to court
HR know most of the legislation in as much depth as most lawyers.

Ecky from recent experience HR won't help ... well HR dept of Bastards in High Places weren't! I recommend John Hammond! We used someone else and I feel they were too "gentle" ! John Hammond is tenacious and I so wish we used him!

Small company with less than 15 employees. There is no HR dept; just one of the directors doing a payroll run every fortnight.

The way it was handled is what I'd like some advice about. I don't think the director doing the payroll will be obliging with providing said advice, as it may well prejudice their company.

But thanks for the replies so far

I apologise for being obscure, I was referring to someone in HR that doesn't work for your previous employer.

It was the Bastards in High Places HR dept that told Mr Hertryk by text not to return to site (he was in the Qantas departure lounge at the time!) good job he had no luggage! Down hill from there!

FWC is the tribunal or 'court' that deals with employment claims, they cannot give advice.

The Fair Work Ombudsman (a separate body) can give advice regarding employment matters but will in most cases not advocate on your behalf.
