Force Strength and Conditioning team confirmed
The Western Force has confirmed the make-up of its Athletic Performance department ahead of its 10th season in Asteron Life Super Rugby in 2015.
Former Head Strength & Conditioning Coach, Charlie Higgins, will now oversee the department – that features the strength, power, conditioning and medical functions – as the Head of Athletic Performance.
Higgins has been a part of the Western Force since 2011 – and assisted the Force players to reach new standards in 2014, with data showing that last season’s squad was the fittest and strongest in the club’s history.
Assisting Higgins in the Western Force’s strength & conditioning programme for the 2015 season is Will Markwick, who has joined the Force from the National Basketball League championship-winning Perth Wildcats.
Higgins takes over the role from David Joyce, who has taken up a position with the Greater Western Sydney Giants in the AFL.
Louis Dallimore will continue to run the RugbyWA Academy Strength and Conditioning Program.
The change allows physiotherapist and local player with the Associates club, Ben Mather, to join the Force on a full-time basis. Mather has previously assisted the club, most recently for the Perth Spirit during this year’s Buildcorp National Rugby Championship.
Mather will work under Head Physiotherapist, Emidio Pacceca, who has been a part of the Western Force since 2013.
A Manual Therapist will also be appointed.
