Completely off topic, but anyone see the "Insiders" programme on the weekend? The finish of the show featured a dubbed version of the Black Knight scene starring Tony Abbott as the Black Knight. After he'd had his arm chopped off......"That's not a cut. It's an efficiency dividend".

Your hatred of the bloke who was given the Wallabies gig 2 days before they left for Europe is sad.

Were they playing 'better' before he got the gig?
If the answer to that question is 'yes' then as a coach he's shit!
Don't try and change horses (or in this case game 'plans') midstream.
He can use 2015 to teach them the structures he wants.

    The answer is no.

Especially reading a lot of the responses on TWF throughout the year

If you recall my posts before the appointment was made, I was calling for him to get the gig. My hatred has developed over the course of a tour filled with inaction and ineffectiveness, not as a result of some personal hatred or any inference that it's a Waratahs conspiracy.

The fact is that he's frivolously wasted the opportunity to trial some things, vary game plans and blood new players in an attempt to build a better solution in a time where there was no pressure on him to win anything. Such inaction in the face of impending disaster is the hallmark of Wallaby rugby at the moment and Cheika has fit right in with that culture.

I wanted him in, because he appeared to take the Waratahs and steer them through a similar cultural malaise, winning them a super rugby title. I thought he might be able to blast the same crap out of the pipes of the Wallaby structure and I'm frustrated because he doesn't even appear to have attempted that!

Next year, when he names his squad, if he comes up with some radical plan which produces dividends and we again occupy our rightful place in the top three I'll eat my words, I've never been shy to admit I was wrong, but right now.......let's face it, according to the records he is the worst performing Aussie coach since 1995 He deserves some ire, Robbie Deans didn't tour the north so ineffectively, Ewen McKenzie didn't tour the north so ineffectively and the lack of any discernible attempt to change it is frustrating.

    Just what I feel!
