FORCE MARKS 10TH SEASON WITH PIONEERING PARTNERSHIP WITH ETIXX SPORTS NUTRITION

    WESTERN FORCE MEDIA RELEASE
    Tuesday, 18 November 2014

The Western Force and RugbyWA have launched a pioneering major partnership with international sports supplement brand, Etixx Sports Nutrition.

Etixx Sports Nutrition, to be launched in Australia in January 2015, is one of the fastest growing sports nutrition brands in Europe and will be the club’s Official Sports Nutrition Partner for the next three seasons. Etixx will be the first sports nutrition brand to appear on the collar of Western Force playing jerseys and on the front of the team’s training wear.

Etixx Sports Nutrition is owned by Belgium-based multinational pharmaceutical company, Omega Pharma, and will provide Western Force players with a holistic range of nutritional supplements to support the five key athlete needs: health, strength, endurance, performance and recovery. Co-developed with professional teams and elite athletes, Etixx products offer unique, cutting-edge formulations with superior ingredients, supported by world class testing.

Etixx ensures the absence of prohibited substances with all products displaying the Informed-Sport logo on pack, which is now the international gold standard for quality assurance.

As part of the partnership, Etixx will host Etixx Sports Nutrition Clinics to educate local club rugby players on the relationship between nutrition and performance, while local rugby clubs will also be provided with special access to Etixx products throughout the partnership.

Brand Activation Manager at Etixx, Larissa Brander, says Etixx is looking forward to partnering with the club for its 10th season of Asteron Life Super Rugby.

“Etixx is committed to providing trusted, credible and premium supplements to help serious athletes achieve their performance goals,” she said. “We are excited to be a part of the Western Force’s 10th anniversary season in Super Rugby, knowing that we can now ensure the players receive specialised nutrition products that cover the five key athlete needs to deliver maximum game day performance.

"Etixx will set a new benchmark for trusted Sports Nutrition in Australia, with all products being rigorously tested, batch by batch, for WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) banned substances plus another 160 substances we believe will be banned in the future.

“We firmly believe that through this level of compliance, Etixx can guarantee the quality of its products, a quality that has quickly earned respect and recognition in the world of professional sports.”

Western Force Head Strength & Conditioning Coach, Charlie Higgins says the club is delighted to have Etixx providing quality sports nutrition supplements for the playing squad.

“It’s exciting to embark on an Australian first partnership with Etixx, that has been making a name for itself in Europe on the back of the quality of its products,” he said.

“We’re working extremely hard with our players to ensure they’re at their physical peak for the 2015 Super Rugby season. Sports nutrition plays an important role in this, and [High Performance Sports Dietitian & Nutrition Consultant] Sophy Foreman continues to work closely with the team, while our sports supplementation programme – addressing players’ health, strength, endurance, performance and recovery – is also an important part of our practices for next season.

“With regard to sports nutrition, we are always extremely vigilant around what products our players are taking. For Etixx to have the support of ASADA and WADA for its products and processes is a non-negotiable for us, and it’s testament to Etixx that they remain extremely proactive regarding the ingredients used and testing of their products.”

Etixx boasts an extensive roster of elite sports sponsorships, including the Omega Pharma Quick-Step cycling team (soon to become the Etixx Quick-Step cycling team), London Irish Rugby Club and French Football Club, Lille Olympique Sporting Club (LOSC). Etixx will also be a major sponsor at the prestigious Tour Down Under in Adelaide in January 2015.

The Etixx Sports Nutrition range includes protein and isotonic powders, bars, capsules and energy gels. For more information visit www.etixxsports.com

Etixx was mentioned 23 times in the article. I wonder if they get paid by the number of times it is mentioned!?

    Two questions.

    1. How much cash is being paid to RugbyWA (if any).

    2. Will it be made compulsory for clubs to buy a set quantity of these products and to attempt to recover this outlay by flogging the product to members?

Well, I for one am happy that they have a sponsor onboard early. Obviously Mr Sinderberry and company are on the ball.

They only become old lawyers BECAUSE they are this cynical.

Those who trust everything that's fed to them without question don't go far in the profession.

I await with anxious anticipation to be assured my reservations are unfounded.
