ACTION by the International Rugby Board and the International Rugby Players’ Association has averted a threatened boycott by Samoan rugby players of next week’s match against England in protest at the management of the Samoan Rugby Union.
In a statement Wednesday, the IRB said it learned late last month “of concerns raised by the Samoa senior men’s national squad regarding the administration of the Samoa Rugby Union.
This included an indication that the players would withdraw from the match against England on November 22 if their concerns were not heard.”
