Why the hell is that? Too many distractions/other activities?

What other grounds in Sydney have the atmosphere and location for this type of event? Would North Sydney Oval be a good venue?

Anyone wanting to save on hotels for the weekend - when the dates are announced - let me know. Happy to help out if I can.

North Sydney Oval has a listed capacity of 20,000. Last time I was there the facilities were not the best for drinks/food/toilets etc. Small Grandstands from the 1920's and lots of grassed banks.

Also from a playing perspective the In-Goal is tiny and cut off by the Fence in the corners.

I was thinking of the grassed banks and people sitting in the trees, might have been festive.

My understanding is that Moore Park (SCG/SFS) were the ones lobbying for it. The IRB is deliberately moving away from that kind of 'boutique' event anyway - they want big crowds and big stadia.
