This is where we need a better river ferry service for south perth and fremantle and up river to bayswater midland or even a monorail to the southern train line

please, you've seen the cost & time blowouts on the arena & fiona stanley hospital.

a stadium & an aquatic based public transport system to rival the CityCat in Brisbane (even though Austal ships is RIGHT F**KING THERE)...

the stadium will be falling apart when they finally utilise the river properly

Front page of the West says that the stadium has the capacity to 'drop in' seating for 'rectangular' sports. If true, that makes me very happy :-))

You still can move the "outside seats" any closer to the action, so only the "drop in seats" will be a bit closer to the action for rectangle sports, but you will be at ground level.

Yeah, true. But it's better than nothing I guess. They have to cater for the 'oval' sport first as it is (and will always be) the most widely supported. So, if they're only building the one stadium, this is the best option all round I suppose.

Will the cricket be played there too like at the new Adelaide Oval?

I've been emailed a few times by the WACA this week and some Cricket will be played at the new stadium but only limited over stuff (ODI's and T20).

Test Cricket will remain at the WACA and rightfully so.

Maybe one day they can upgrade "capacity" to "ability" and "willingness".
