    Red card blow for Force

Hugh McMeniman is set to miss Friday night's crucial match against the Brumbies through suspension, forcing Western Force coach Michael Foley to reshuffle his back row for the clash in Canberra.

With Gus Cottrell sidelined with a broken leg, Foley has two options - Chris Alcock, an openside flanker who has not played since having shoulder surgery in March, or Brynard Stander, who has impressed with his bullocking runs as an impact player from the reserves bench.

MMM brainfart cost us a bonus point IMO. We were all over the Reds until then and camped on there line. Imagine if it had been red.

I'd bring in Stander, he has delivered everytime. Alcock of the bench. I think after being out for so long, starting Alcock would be a big ask.

Couldn't agree more! TBH I think Foley would probably have benched him. Pure thuggery and has let him self down.

yeah have to agree. I would have loved to see stander starting as necessary, though perhaps he was always an impact bench player for the team.

Every time he comes on there are some massive hits and there was a spectacular cleanout that lead to the forwards run-away try.

Stander into the XV for me, with Alcock on the bench.

MMM may well have played his last game for the Force. Turned out to be a bit of a curate's egg, what with his injury and everything. Shame :-(

It was on the cards (pun). I would have replaced MMM the minutes he was out of his Yellow card time with Stander.

I don't see it as a blow, it has created an opportunity IMHO, Bryno The Rhino to start and Alcock off the bench.

MMM was always a risk. One worth taking. But I for being injury prone. He's always been very agressive, but mainly within the laws. Not good to see him go out on that sour note with a very cheap shot. He's let himself down but moreso his mates.

Should have been red. We were lucky Gus didn't have the screens on to see it.

Didn't he get to see the incident at least once? Or was that too late?

definitely agree, Stander to start and Alcock on the bench. Too early to start Alcock. Only other option Wykes to 6 and Coleman and Steenkamp 2nd row.

Hopefully lineout doesnt suffer too much without MMM but we should have enough to cover him.

Wykes to 9, surely? His pass to Cummins was a thing of beauty. [/takes off Force-tinted spectacles]

Unfortunately I was at home.... ....and saw it on the screen a number of times! After the other skirmish later between the two of them, I thought maybe Lucas had done something to him off camera! Giving him the benefit of the doubt!

where was Alby? Gee being sick has left me so out of touch! Pardon Pun!
