... on the 6th day God played rugby and on the 7th day he rested, because he was sore and a little hungover.

Julian took it personally, the first thing out of his mouth was how rude. You must remember that him and his friends have a passion for football. They play it outside all the time. If they are inside they are doing one of 3 things. Watching the NFL network (24/7 football channel), playing various PS2 and Xbox football games, or on the computer playing fantasy football. I believe Julian already has about 15 fantasy teams and training camp hasn't even started.

So we'll let the naive little ones have their fun. One thing I do know for sure is that that the 11yr old won't even come close to the 14 yr. old is spelling errors.

well said larry. and tell julian i am sorry too.
I may not like gridiron but if he does and it's his passion then i'm all for it. good on him for being passionate about a sport. it's a very healthy thing.
i think we've forgotten that you are american after all so it would be hard for him to be really into his rugby union. doesn't get as much media or public attention as it does here.
Good luck with your football julian and all i can say is at least you aren't playing soccer

Amen!! No one would've wanted to be me 4 or 5 years ago. Every weekend for 3 months Sat. my daughter played Sunday Julian played. It was brutal for me. Thank god they both were bored with the sport and retired after a couple of years.

yeah you got the rough end of the stick there having to watch it. I used to love playing indoor soccer especially in PE in high school. (i enjoyed rugby more though.. even if it was only touch rugby)
But watching soccer... it's just awful. I'm sorta glad the socceroos are out of the world cup now cause people have stopped talking about it all the time. Now the talk is all about rugby... as it should be.

American Football - Im sorry I just cant call it Gridiorn, its like calling Tennis; Court - is an excellent game and to criticise a game you have no knowledge about is a disgrace.

American Footballers are much bigger then their Rugby counter-parts and have on occasions been know to play their games on carpet covered concrete - you would want pads too.

25 years ago it was illegal for Rugby Union players to have any sort of padding - now there are helmets like the one worn by the captain of the Western Force Nathan Sharp (bless him) and shoulder pads etc

American Football is based on Rugby Union, and the American Rugby Union side the Eagles were the only team to score a try against the Wallabies in the 1999 Rugby World Cup.

Lets show a little respect for people from other parts of the world rather then jumping all over them. We will have a much better time.
