SANZAR investigating Waratahs' Cheika

Super Rugby's governing body SANZAR is to investigate a complaint against NSW Waratahs coach Michael Cheika after a sideline incident in Durban.

South African broadcaster Super Sport claims that Cheika had a brief verbal confrontation with one of their camermen during his team's loss to the Sharks at Kings Park on Saturday.

"There was a confrontation with the cameraman, the coach objected to Super Sport filming him and he approached and abused him," Super Sport spokesman Clinton van der Berg has told Fairfax.

"A couple of choice words were used. Where Super Sport draws the line is being threatened."

The alleged incident comes two weeks after Cheika broke a pane of glass in the coaches box at Canberra Stadium where his team lost to the Brumbies.

Van der Berg said a complaint was lodged with the match commissioner Peter Strydom, who in turn sent it to SANZAR.

A SANZAR spokesman told Fairfax the complaint would be looked at on Wednesday.

"We have received correspondence, but like all matters of this nature, won't be making further comment until we've had the opportunity to review," the spokesman said.

How about he's supposedly a professional coach and is probably not expected to abuse the host broadcaster's employees for doing their job. The rights holders do, if indirectly, pay his salary after all.

Is there a video of the event and how much went on before or afterthe camera started rolling or was edited? How close where they?What are the specific circumstances? Did it actually occur?

I understand your point but guilty until proven innocent or with extenuating circumstances is not really acceptable.

Ok, f@3k off is one thing, possibly not good form, but storm in a teacup material. The article mentioned threats, no matter how you slice it, a threat in this day and age is unacceptable. Even f@3k off or I'll give you a bunch of fives is risky.
