I have reluctantly grown to admire Beale, for his play only I must add, but last night was just crap! Very weak and clueless and I hate to say it but he did look like he was a wee bit gun shy. Overall the Tahs did pretty well and the score line does not reflect their effort. However, they were given a bit of a spankin by a far more mature and wise side. No matter what Cheika says Dennis was warned about the stupid off ball stuff and proceeded to do it…..when the skipper does something the ref has specifically warned about it leaves little option.

I saw the first half last night.

Too much dropped ball by both sides in the first half.

Both sides were wanted about the off ball stuff twice in the first half.

Beale crabbing across field reminded if Giteau when he was the Force.

I remember commenting on Beales crap game last week (not sure whether it was online or verbal) but the trend didn't start with the Sharks.

Beale certainly looks for Izzy to take a lot of heat off him, and every now and again that ends up with Izzy over the line. I don't think Kurtley is doing as well at 12 as the results make it look right now.

Let's not read too much into the fact that Izzy was off the field for this one, it's highly likely that the traditional mid season slump has started and Izzy's absence is purely coincidental.

Of course Izzy's absence might be the trigger for the slump this year.

    Very good points, thought-provoking stuff.

I also have to add, that I think Folau's ability to spot/find gaps and run good angles through them, is under-rated. Sometimes I think he's the one making the call with Beale or Quade, not the other way around.

    Haha - Tahs.

Maybe the problem with Beale is that he's so far above everyone else that they aren't where he expects them to be and he then gets confused about what to do. With Izzy being in those positions to finish consistently he looked far more comfortable.

Yep SC. Funny how changes in back line combinations are routinely said to upset rythm. Except when the player(s) concerned are either unpopular or the team they play for is.

So the rest of the team needs to 'learn to play with him' like the Force were meant to do in the last of the JOC years?
