SUPER RUGBY – WEEK 5: HIGHLANDERS V WESTERN FORCE

    WESTERN FORCE MEDIA RELEASE
    Friday, 14 March 2014

The Western Force has crossed the Tasman for the first time in 2014 ahead of its Week Five Asteron Life Super Rugby clash with the Highlanders at Dunedin’s Forsyth Barr Stadium on Saturday (15 March).

The Western Australians will be looking to build on their 32-7 bonus point win over the Melbourne Rebels last week at the ‘Force Field’ (nib Stadium). The Force scored four tries in the opening 30 minutes to mark Matt Hodgson's 100th Asteron Life Super Rugby cap with the club.

The Force has named an unchanged line-up to the one that defeated the Rebels with winger Luke Morahan in line to record his 50th Asteron Life Super Rugby match.

The Highlanders resume their campaign following the bye and have made several changes to the side that was narrowly beaten by the Chiefs, 21-19, a fortnight ago with John Hardie moving to the blindside flank while Shane Christie starts on the openside. In the backline, Kurt Baker receives his first start of 2014 on the left wing with Malakai Fekitoa shifting to the centres.

Western Force fullback Jayden Hayward, who played with the Highlanders in 2009 and 2010, will come up against his former club after slotting a late penalty goal to defeat the Otago side, 19-18, when the two sides last met in Perth last year.

What's this weird story bout media training? Is it just more growden grubbing for when you can't come up with anything to write so just make it up as you go?

    Melbourne money.

Not only is the TV market massive over there but the aru have a significant investment that they need to justify. The force is being run on an oily rag in comparison

To the best of my knowledge media training is part and parcel of being a super rugby player.
Mostly it's just enough to stop players looking like idiots and to stop them falling for the usual media tricks.

It's likely part of every professional sports player's training. Hell, even public servants get media training! I would want media training too if I had to face douchebags like Growden! It's a total non-issue - akin to reporting the Pope's a catholic

The Honey Badger must have wagged school.

Anyone noticed Daniel Riccardo has also adopted the honey badger as his animal spirit? He's a sandgroper, so maybe a Force fan too? Or very unoriginal.
