I shudder to think what the reaction towards Kearney would have been had he not picked Williams after making himself available.

Jury is out on this one. But I'll put my tin hat on and say any publicity is good when you're wanting to promote a pretend world cup that not many people even know about.
There was a press release today in France urging people to "come and see Sonny Bill play".
Just as a matter of interest who is the current league world champs
Wests Scarborough 1st Grade juggernaut has played finals rugby each and every year since its inception and continues this remarkable feat yet again this season and unbelievably it's still rolling on and as an added little circle jerk for the masses Wests actually hold the record for the current longest unbroken finals record.
Lebanon?
On a side note, is Tohu Harris eligible to play for another team?

on the one hand you feel for the bloke who gets overlooked. on the other hand you can't play favourites just because someone has been in the system longer. you have to give the jersey to the better player.
relevant question:
should we therefore also keep Simmons; Genia; Beale; Alexander in the Wallabies squad simply because they have "earned their place" and have been in the system longer, or are we prepared to drop them for a player who may be newer and/or less experienced but could perform better Pyle; White; Mogg; Palmer?
I don't see much difference here.
you might not like the bloke, but I have no doubt he is a better player and will offer more to the team than To(who?).
There has been a lot of sidestepping so again I ask just who are the current world champs[to be honest I do know the answer]
