Not when Australia and New Zealand are right next to each other!

Surely the Kiwis would be very unhappy having to fly all the way to Perth.

Stick us in the SA group, we prefer playing over there anyway.

Looking at our home records, we should probably play all our games away from home!

The funny thing is that when you look at the history of the Currie Cup and the past winners, they match up to the current 5 super franchises - all this baloney re the Kings being integral is utter pap - SA have the hump as they are loosing quality players to Europe and now younger players else where. The Currie Cup is a great comp along with the Varsity set up - it allows fringe players to get a big game and some dosh - However I still do not see why SANZAR is being held to ramsom by some parochial saffas who think, without evidence, that their piece of turf is better and more important than anyone else's.

I'm not sure that is entirely the case. The ANZAC unions seem to think more derbies and trans-Tasman matches will rate well for TV.
I wonder whether a souped up Currie Cup with a couple of fledgeling Argie teams would do the same?
My guess is pay TV operators will drcide the way forwatd anyway.

Ah look, it's just the usual political stuff anyway, if the Kings were good enough to beat the Lions we wouldn't hear any of this stuff.
