so what we're expected to believe is that the Waratahs can come ninth in the competition with the best Australian player in super rugby and the best rookie in super rugby and pretty much the whole Wallaby pack and about a third of the backline.

    I smell a fix.

Hooper suffered badly this year from either a) Second season syndrome, let's see how well he responds now that everybody has video-analysed him or b) Tah stink, nothing washes that out, except maybe two good seasons at the Force.

This award should have gone to a Brumby, no question, hands down, there is a Brumby to lead almost any stat you care to name in this competition and the players were robbed by a panel of judges who obviously wear randwick green blazers!

I agree with you both Gigs and TIF! I think there are several players who should have taken the title ahead of Hooper this year.

And Izzy as rookie? I guess so if you only look at his union experience and ignore the previous experience he's gained in RL I tend to think of rookies in terms of age rather than time in union which is why I scratch my head a bit over the Folau naming.

Did Kyle Godwin not qualify for the Rookie category....? Or was it because he'd had a couple of games the pervious season...?

I agree Hooper was better the year before with the Brumbies and James O'Connor 4th, he didn't do much, Godwin was way better in super rugby this year.
