I've been calling for it ever since they started playing that card, World rugby would be better off with ZA in the 6natins and a southern hemisphere style of play (Pacific Islands or maybe Argentina) in the tournament.

We could have a pacific rim tournament with a team from Japan, one or two west coast Americans, some argentine and a couple of PI teams, play each other twice, like a real competition would do it and shut up the Saffers whingeing about their precious Currie Cup.

62 000 crowd - that's literally 10 times what they used to get when they were actually in the competition...

Maybe the Kings experiment was really a long term plan to get the people of Jo'burg to turn up at the Rugby again

Splitting Super Rugby into an Australia/NZ half and a South Africa/Argentina half is one of the options being discussed at SANZAR at the moment for the next TV deal so this might give it a nudge.

I knew the Kings were likely to start losing players but this was unexpected...

ANDERSON, IND.—Daniel Adongo has never played a down of American football, has watched only a few games on television and he tends to fidget with his helmet.

Somehow, the Indianapolis Colts found this muscle-bound six-foot-five, 257-pound athlete on the rugby fields of Africa and decided to give him a shot at making an NFL roster.

“Just take your steps and be patient,” Adongo said. “The biggest thing is to be patient with myself and allow myself to have a good learning curve and build myself up.”

There are plenty of things the 23-year-old Kenyan must figure out now that he’s working out with his new teammates at training camp.

He’s still learning how to get around town and around campus.

He’s still getting used to the sensation of a helmet and pads.

And, of course, he’s still learning what he’s supposed to do.

Teammates are convinced Adongo will be a quick learner, though those who have made the transition from overseas star to American contributor know it won’t be easy.

Good luck to him - he'll probably make more money as a barely used back-up player in the NFL than he would as a Super Rugby starter.

Although I am reminded of when Johan Lomu was in his prime and asked to try out at running back for the Dallas Cowboys. The coaches response was: "Too slow to be a half back, too small to be a full back." NFL players are highly specialised!
