    Pindan Prem Round 15

Games are: (Position in ladder - points in ladder)

    Associates(6-37) v Cottesloe(2-59)
    Palmyra(3-42) v Wanneroo(9-8)
    Wests Scarborough(4-40) v UWA(5-39)
    Rockingham(8-27) v Perth Bayswater(10-6)
    Kalamunda(7-37) v Nedlands(1-61)

So with 4 games left there is a maximum of 20 points available for each club. This means Nedlands only need a win to guarantee a finals place, Cott need two wins or one win with other results going their way.

This leaves the final spots open for any of the clubs in 3rd-8th spot, even Rocky can make it with a good run at the end.

The favourites to make it will have to be Paly & Soaks, with both teams playing both Wanneroo & Baysie in the last four games where they will expect to get maximum points from those games, though Wanneroo showed this week against Kala that they are not going to just roll over.

However, as teams have been finding the lower teams have the ability to scare and even beat those above them and cause an upset, Paly, Cott & Wests all face Rocky in the final four games. An upset could spell game over for Paly or Wests.

Wests, UWA & Kala will have a struggle to keep themselves going with a hard run in, all of them play one of the top two, and then a minefield of two or three games against each other as the middle tables teams continue the fight.

Rocky need to overcome at least three of Baysie, Cott, Paly & Wests to stand a chance, winning all four may seem out of the question, but emotion is making this club fight hard, if they don't make it, I'm fairly sure they'll upset one of the clubs higher on the ladder.

Game of the round will probably be Wests v Uni, but Kala v Neds & Soaks v Cott will also be hard fought games.

Expect Paly & Rocky to get wins against the bottom two clubs who are struggling as they find form during a rebuilding phase.

Dodgy referee calls could spell game over for any of these teams. You have summarised the situation well. Every game in the next few rounds are vital.

All teams have something to gain even if finals are realistically out of reach. Rocky is in a fight to demonstrate credibility as the latest rumours have Rocky losing their Premier Grade status at the end of the season. A mid table result may turn away the undertakers.

PS Just because teams are at the bottom of the ladder doesn't mean they are in a "rebuilding phase" or a "young side" as some would have it!

Firstly - Congrats to Paly on what seems to be a good and fair win. The win has been somewhat overshadowed by the Neddies incidents and reffing controversies but from what I hear they won fairly and squarely with a number of Cott players letting themselves down in one on one defense.

This week, Cott will bounce back with bonus point win over Soaks, Paly will continue their red hot form and steam roll a very unstructured Waneroo, West to be too strong for Uni, Rocky to over run Baysie and then I am at a quandary. Neddies, on form should romp this, but if the judiciary has its way they may loose a number of players on top of the current injured lot. This could test the depth of the squad and give Kala something to have a crack at. I still think they will be too strong for the Bulls but it could be a lot closer than people think.

I agree Wests are struggling and are just happy to make up the numbers this year and it will be season over for us this weekend when the Uni lads pump us.Keep the predections coming guys.

Wests Scarborough 1st Grade juggernaut has played finals rugby each and every year since its inception and continues this remarkable feat yet again this season and unbelievably it's still rolling on and as an added little circle jerk for the masses Wests actually hold the record for the current longest unbroken finals record.

Rumour has it that Force players will be flooding the local comp this weekend.

That might cause a few upsets and may make some of these predictions look a bit silly.

Anyone know who has what players?

    Cott to sign O'Connor

    Cott to sign O'Connor
Justin Chadelwick, Cottesloe Beach Advertiser and Herald
    July 15, 2013, 11:34 am

Cottesloe RUFC has met with wayward Wallaby James O'Connor this week, while the Perth-based team is also keen to continue contract talks with star center Brian O'Driscoll.

Cott loom as O'Connor's only real option if he wants to keep playing in Australia after the utility back was sensationally dumped by the Melbourne Rebels after requesting more time in the Gulls jersey.

Head coach Chook Fowler announced the coup in time for this year’s finals series for the Pindan Premier Grade.

Mr Fowler stated that "James will be a valuable asset for any team but for him this is coming home. Cott, of course, do not pay players... directly but I have to admit that we will help with housing, transport and a job to tide him over until he is settled back here in the West."

When asked about details regarding the package, Mr Fowler refused to be drawn on speculation that the house was in fact a nine bedroom property on the beach, the car was a Ferrari California and the job was as a marketing executive for Redken Male Grooming products on a seven figure salary.

“This is obviously an exaggeration by various members of the TWF community. There are no nine bedroom properties on the beach…. It is at least one street back and only has five bedrooms with a guest suite for six. The car is only small so I can’t see what the issue is and as for the job… well he uses the stuff and has spent a mint on product so it about time they gave something back.”

At the time of writing this article, neither James, Mr O’Driscoll or any sane member of RugbyWA could be found to verify this article however, a Mr R Monger was noted as saying that “this will be great for the competition and we look forward to cadging a bed off my old mukker James next time I am at Cott.”

You better sign Kurtley up as well.

Together they'll be known as Cott's Twats.

Very good effort Dinky, good to see you amusing yourself in a positive way.

For the record, I've never considered Cott as part of Australia. The sooner they convert it into an offshore processing centre for asylum seekers like O'Connor the better. Cott would look good with a 4 metre razor wire fence around it and the rugby field / golf course covered in tents.

PS You will note the background of the photo - Rockingham Rugby Club - Rocky may have already signed JO'C and his kid brother; best you check the facts with Chook.

One will be the red carded player, the rest will be the judiciary members.
