    Kearns makes a good point:

"While not trying to shift the blame away from the incumbent Test No.10, former Wallabies hooker Kearns said the O'Connor's management team should have already intervened.

"That reflects also on the people that are advising him as well - they need to take a good hard look at themselves," Kearns told Rugby HQ.

"When you’re being hawked around the provinces and no one wants you then, hey, it’s time to wake up.

"When you’re a kid and you’re growing up and you’re the gun and everyone wants you and loves you … it comes to a point where you’re surrounded by a bunch of blokes who are just as good and you’ve got to face reality there."

Wallabies playmaker James O'Connor appears to be losing his allies in Australian rugby

JAMES O'Connor seems to be publically losing allies all over Australian rugby, and likely lost his biggest backer Robbie Deans as well by brushing his farewell on Sunday.

After Deans elected not to drop O'Connor or Kurtley Beale for their 4am finish in Melbourne or missing the team bus a week later in Sydney, sources have confirmed O'Connor was a no-show at the Wallabies team meeting on Sunday morning at 10am.

As reported, O'Connor and Beale were seen out heading into a Kings Cross club at 5.30am after the Wallabies' third Test loss to the Lions the night before. A function at the Opera House ended at 3am.

The Sunday morning meeting was a poignant one for Deans, with the coach aware he was probably about to be axed. He expressed his thanks to the players and effectively bid them farewell, on the chance he wouldn't be there for the Rugby Championship. That became reality the next day he was tapped by ARU boss Bill Pulver.

Wallaby teammates could only shake their head when the absence of O'Connor was noted...

Unbelievable behaviour! I hope someone has got the influence to get his head out of his arse at point him in the right direction or JOC will be person non grata all over the world.
And what a waste of talent.

He's making it harder and harder to be on his side.

Maybe he could go play in Canada and befriend briber? Their attitudes seem to parallel each other's at the moment

I wonder if people would be making such a big deal about JO'C if we had won the Lions series?

Yeah but missing the team meeting on the Sunday, we're now looking at 7 or 8 minor indiscretions over the last few years, they're starting to mount up.. if this was any other occupation, it would not matter how valuable you are to the company, you'd be out on your ar$e if you acted like that. The kids not a pariah, but he needs a kick up the ar$e.

that would depend on his contribution to the win wouldn't it?

If JOC had kicked 30 points and scored 4 trys - no

if he had done the bare minimum of points and was out at all hours while missing team buses then YES - oh wait!

Chuck Norris has the greatest Poker-Face of all time. He won the 1983 World Series of Poker, despite holding only a Joker, a Get out of Jail Free Monopoly card, a 2 of clubs, 7 of spades and a green #4 card from the game Uno.

For mine it wasn't so much the missing of the meeting per se, it was the disrespect it showed. The first is just him not caring (again) about the team and associated duties, the second is just plain rudeness and insensitivity to one of the few people that has consistently had his back.
