The question is not whether we have the cattle. It is Test cricket; the only question is whether this bunch has the minerals to stare them down, do the necessary and behave like a team rather than a group of self-interested princesses.

Well, if they stop naming 4 openers in the top 5 batsmen, that'll be good!

As for the bowlers, I see the current squad as a mixture of the occasionally brilliant, but often only dependable older guard (Siddle, Hilfenhaus, Johnson) and the genuinely threatening but usually crocked young turks.

Plus they don't seem to have settles on a spinner (Lyon, Hauritz, this young Pakistani guy, hell, even Hogg's been mentioned somewhere!) Oh for the days of Warnie; took 40 wickets and was one of the highest scoring batsmen in the 2005 series!

Johnson and Hilfenhaus aren't even in the squad

Harris is a class act but it's a shame he is made of glass. Pattinson and Bird are guns and hopfully Watson will bowl

Lyon is the only spinner named in the squad

Our batting is fragile though. If Clarke gets another case of shaggers back we're cooked

England will start as favoruites but I'm happier with Boof in charge then that waste of space Micky Arthur

Apparently, according to Michael Slater there is a video going around showing M.Clarke hi-5-ing after the press conference to make the announcement. Go figure??

Talk on 6PR that Mickey Aurther may be in talks with Rugby WA could be an interesting acquisition especially if we are looking to SA for new players.

South Africa has run out of Rugby players to send us so we're going to recruit Cricket players now?

no talk in what capacity he would be in but he has a great coaching brain maybe a mentor for the young blokes.

    Home work Coordinator maybe?

It is not unheard of for coaches or former players to cross over to another sport entirely and see what they can bring to the party. I know that Clive Woodward held a position with Southampton Football club in England.

Ric Charlesworth former coach of the Hockeyroos held a position with the Fremantle Dockers some years ago.

All teams in all sports are looking for a competitive edge
