    Kurtley dropped/suspended vs Blues

KURTLEY Beale's fractured career is again in limbo with the Wallaby and Melbourne Rebels star suspended for a second time in seven weeks.

Beale has been stood down from Melbourne's match with the Blues in Auckland on Saturday for breaches of agreed behavioural protocols.

His future in rugby is uncertain, pending another investigation by Australian Rugby Union and Melbourne officials into his erratic behaviour.

The ARU released a brief statement on Thursday morning confirming Beale's omission from the Rebels' line-up.

"Beale has been found in breach of behavioural guidelines as agreed to by the ARU, Melbourne Rebels, RUPA and the player," the statement said.

"The relevant parties will meet further to discuss any future course of action."

News Limited understands there are reports Beale breached behavioural conditions by drinking alcohol in Melbourne on Saturday night.

He is further alleged to have subsequently missed an appointment with a psychiatrist.

His chances of representing Australia against the British and Irish Lions are now virtually non-existent. His future at Melbourne is even more tenuous.

Beale, 24, last week returned to Super Rugby after serving a six-week suspension for fighting teammates Cooper Vuna and Gareth Delve in Durban in March.

His return was conditional on adhering to strict behavioural guidelines, some of which are believed to be related to alcohol.

Those stipulations were put in place after Beale punched Vuna and Delve in South Africa on March 25.

Right. Fuck him off. How many more chances does one player get before he is shown the door?
They let cips go mid season so why can't they do it to kurtley!
If he is incapable of sticking to his program within 2 weeks of going back to Melbourne, he needs to seriously reevaluate and asses where he's at. It doesn't seem that doing this while playing rugby is the right thing for him.

Also it's another blight that again is going to tell young players that you can do whatever you want, say you're sorry, go through the motions but ultimately have nothing happen to you but a paid holiday. As You'd have to think that he got paid while he was in Sydney.

Nobody is bigger than the game! C'mon Pulver. Show some mettle and shred his contract!

Beale stood down for drinking again

Troubled Wallabies star Kurtley Beale's hopes of winning selection against the British and Irish Lions are in tatters after being stood down again.

Beale's future at the Melbourne Rebels also appears shaky after he was sanctioned for going out drinking, breaking a condition of his return from suspension.

Last Friday night the 24-year-old Beale returned from a month-long suspension for an alcohol-fuelled incident in South Africa in which he struck two teammates.

He came off the bench early in the second half and almost sparked a come-from-behind upset win over the Crusaders.

Beale is understood to have gone out with some teammates last Saturday night and drank alcohol.

He confessed his actions to the club and has been stood down for the Rebels match against the Blues in Auckland on Saturday and more discussions are planned with the Australian Rugby Union about his immediate future.

Beale also missed an appointment with a psychologist, which was part of his on-going treatment program.

Rebels coach Damien Hill said on Friday it was disappointing for both Beale and the team, who are flying to Auckland to face the Blues on Saturday.

"You can't shy away from the fact that he is one of the best footballers in the country," Hill said.

"It's just unfortunate that the behavioural side is interfering with that at the moment.

    "It's really disappointing."

Hill said Beale was very remorseful and felt he'd let his teammates and himself down.

The coach said it was too early to tell if Beale would play for the Rebels again.

"It's probably too early to comment on that.

"Everybody wants a fit and healthy Kurtley on and off the field so he can perform.

"It's a work in progress and there's a lot more to be done."

Beale spent his ban training in Sydney under the ARU and returned in peak form.

Against the Crusaders he looked fit and fast and scored a superb solo try, marking him as a certainty to again win Wallabies selection.

what the hell Did Aru expect to happen, three weeks of intensive rugby training isn't a cure for alcoholism, it's a cure for obesity.

their soft stance on ALL his prior indiscretions has created this situation and they should be made to foot the bill of fixing him. after standing him down

That's the result of going too easy on him. If he'd have been suspended for a season at least, he'd have realised there's a consequence for his actions

We should sign him up. He won't be able to afford the price of a beer in Perth! He has been a dickhead again. Must be seriously difficult as a 24 yr old with plenty cash to stay home and watch a DVD. Does he have a girlfriend ? They are usually pretty good at taming the grog beast.

its slightly satisfying to see though, so everyone who said "see, the force sack them without question, we're above that" can now rebut all the "yeah, but he'll come good" we got back from our east coast counterparts!
