After moving from Saracens to Wasps for the start of the 2009/10 season, Jacobs had an outstanding first year making 33 appearances; more appearances than any other player. Having played most of his rugby in the centres, he showed his versatility with some impressive performances at full back last season and Director of Rugby Tony Hanks has hinted that he could also be seen in further positions in the backline.
Before coming to England, Sydney-born Jacobs played for the Super 14 finalists NSW Waratahs. 2007 was the year that he won the Waratahs' Best Back Award in 2007, after starting in nine out of thirteen matches that season.
Jacobs played 35 games at Super rugby level between 2004 and 2008, before which he also represented Central Coast Rays and Club side Warringah, where he faced a tough run of injuries.
The holder of an Australia A Cap, Jacobs qualifies for British Passport through his English wife.

I hope Foley is looking to the future and this is a stop gap. if he goes ok , no problems but we need guys coming through like Kyle and co to put pressure on the incumbents. We shouldn't be buying them we should be breeding them in the west !

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Not a bad first up performance. Cut all of their kicking legs of not just his.
I don't believe he is a long term signing just a stop gap. (4 games with out having to sign up. I think)

Can understand the desire for an older head in the line, but I can't help wondering what Rasolea did wrong. He looked the goods to me, breaking lines and showing real promise at 13. Foles obviously thinks he needs to work on something, but I can't imagine he is being improved by bench time.

Centre Ben Jacobs to return to London Wasps
Experienced hard-running centre, Ben Jacobs, will return to play for London Wasps this season, signing for his former Club from Super Rugby side Western Force.
Jacobs first joined Wasps in 2009 and made an immediate impact in his first season making 33 appearances. His second season with Wasps was equally successful from a personal perspective as he made 24 appearances, scored six tries, and was awarded try of the season for his effort against Newcastle Falcons.
He left the Club in the summer of 2011 to join Japanese side Kyuden Voltex where he spent nearly two seasons before migrating back to Australia to join Western Force. Jacobs recently started for Western Force in the final game of the Super Rugby season against the Brumbies.
London Wasps Director of Rugby Dai Young said: “Ben’s experience will be a big asset for us this season. Losing Lee Thomas to retirement was a real disappointment for both ourselves and the players recently but Ben will come into that midfield mix and do a very good job for us. He knows the Club inside out and was very keen to come back here so we’re looking forward to him joining up with us again.”

But if Wasps are welcoming him back with open arms he surely can't be that bad?
