    Quest for the Cup

After early exits the last 3 years in the playoffs the Penguins try again. Starting tonight at home their first round opponent is the New York Islanders. The Pens are without Sidney Crosby who is still out with a broken jaw. Time for the rest of the team to step it up. Let's just win 4 and make it to round 2.

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

For a change larry, were getting some decent coverage on fox sports, I think there's 4 or 5 games live this week, leafs will stuggle against boston, they've already lost game 1!... What's your thoughts on the 'stadium series'?.(The pens involved again!). The winter classic should be kept as a one off!...gary bettman really knows how to screw a good thing over......

Pens off to a good start with a 5-0 win in game 1. 3 more wins to get.

I think that there should be just one Winter Classic. The HBO series and New Years game has worked great. I don't understand the need for 6.

I only caught parts of the Leafs game because it was on the same time as the Pens. So I really don't know how they played. But the Bruins out shot them 40-20 so I'd guess they got dominated. They lack the playoff experience so maybe they'll bounce back.

    Game 2

Sid returns after a month off with a broken jaw. He scores 2x in the first period but that was about the only positive. The Islanders out played the Pens all night and get a 4-3 win to tie the series 1-1.

Bet this will go down to the last game.

It's all controlled by TV $$$$$$$. 7 games is fine as long as it's 4 wins for us!

Game 3 today was a wild affair. The series goes to NY for 2 games. The Islanders jumped off to a quick 2-0 lead. The Pens battled back and went ahead 4-2 only to have NY tie it at 4 and force it into overtime.

Pens get the power play goal about 10 minutes in for a 5-4 win and a 2-1 series lead.

    2 down 2 to go!

Islanders won game 4 6-4 to tie the series at 2.
The Pens changed goalies to start game 5. It pays off as they win 4-0 to take a 3--2 series lead. 3 down 1 more win to go.

Pens beat Ottawa tonight 6-2 and win the series 4 games to 1. The win more than makes up for the tahs f'ing up my tipping. We're half way to the cup. Bring on New York or Boston in the Eastern conference Finals.
