Contracts are for tearing up. If man made it, man can break it.

Digby missed his mummy too much in WA.

Digby will take the money and the geisha in japan and be back in time for 2015 rugby world cup

Along with several players, including captain James Horwill, Ioane has been in dispute with the Reds over a third-party payment

If Brett Harris has this correct alarm bells should be ringing at ARU HQ. I thought the team had no involvement in third-party deals?

Diggers is great mates with MMM, and from what I recall tried to talk him out of going to Japan in 2008. Maybe the tables can be turned, and they could link up in Perth....?

Clubs are definitely allowed to negotiate third party contracts on behalf of players, they have an overall salary cap for third party contracts which is around $500'000 separate to the Salary Cap wages which the clubs provide..

Queensland Reds have denied speculation Wallabies winger Digby Ioane is unhappy at the club and plans to break his lucrative three-year contract at the end of the current Super Rugby season.

Reds coaching boss Ewen McKenzie and captain James Horwill both disputed a News Ltd report on Monday that Ioane had fallen out with the Queensland Rugby Union administration and would leave the 2011 champions.

The 34-Test finisher is among the best wingers in the world and is currently one of Australia's highest-paid players.

The newspaper report claimed Ioane was unhappy after being one of several players, including Horwill, taking issue over a third-party payment and was now hoping to play interstate.

But Horwill denied he was in dispute with the Reds over any contractual matters and would be surprised if Ioane wanted to leave.

    The story is a crock.

Brett Harris typing with his anus yet again.

Player's managers must laugh their testicles off at how well Harris does their bidding for them.

    What a knob.

My understanding was that they could find money additional to the ARU money, not that they could organise deals. One of the things the Force was specifically fined for was "offering third-party benefits to induce a player to sign with the Force".

Nice turn of phrase Tic #Not

It's not just Harris reporting it. Georgina Robinson of the SMH is too. This from her Twitter account tonight:

"Massive stink kicking off between Reds and Digby Ioane. Complete relationship breakdown between player, player management and Reds admin."

Will be interesting to see where the truth lies.

Yes. But that was the Force. This is the Reds. But, of course, the other three on the eastern seaboard have never arranged any third party payments either.

Do yourself a favour and read what Horwill and Link said today rather than parroting the sourceless nonsense from these non journalists.

In my experience, there are 2 sides to every story and usually the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

Digby doesn't have a great track record when it comes to these things, and Horwill & Link are hardly going to say anything that would go against the party line.

Personally, I don't care either way.

To be fair, of course Ewen and Horwill would rubbish the story. They have a vested interest at keeping the Reds in a stable, positive spotlight.

I wonder if Digby getting dropped for a game has had any influence on this.
