With the big news today (Hugh) I would now no longer be suprised if JOC signs with us aswell. IMO. If that happens I will sit on the fence about how I feel, but I support the Force not a sigle player, but the whole team.

If O'Connor returns I'll support him in the same way I support any Force player. However, some Force players become fan favourites and some become the target for our bile.

O'Connor would fall into the second camp until he demonstrated he could:
a) fit into the team-first ethos, and
b) contribute on the field without becoming the sole focal point which allows other teams to shut us down by targetting him, which they rather did last time he was here.

We had him before but it didn't seem to make much difference to our results. The current backline isn't vastly different to the one we had when he was last with us is it??

O'Connor has made no secret that he wants to play 10. The problem he have is that he is so versatile and that can be his downfall. He needs to play one position and become a specialist in that. If that's 10, then he has no other option than the Force or stay where he is. Thas have Foley (prob Beale next year). Reds have his mate. The Brumbies will be his worst option. They have a settled 10 and 15 and 2 very different type 12's. So not sure where he will fit in at the ponies. He likes to be the main show and the only 2 clubs where he will get that is at the Force or the Rebels.
