    Mundine fight circus

Super Cooper looked like a boxer to me. Lightning reflexes. Speed. Dancing feet. His punches have a lot of power. The bloke is an amazing athlete. I hope he stays in rugby because he could make it as a fighter. His opponent was a likeable lad but was pretty slow.

$BW v White buffalo - fitting that $BW would take on someone twice his age. Botha has some pedigree ( v Hollyfield, Tyson etc) The bloke doesn't lack courage and went toe to toe with someone half his age. R.E.S.P.E.C.T. As you would expect at a Mundine fight card, it was a circus. With Botha getting on top and with $BW trainers thinking about throwing in the towel, the fight is reduced to 10 rounds so $BW can win.

    That'll do me

I am an avid follower of boxing what amazed me watching the highlights of Quade Cooper in the rings is why on earth would a bloke in his first professional bout keep his hands down so low?

I know absolutely nothing about boxing...but honestly I thought QC was just dancing around hands down... Hmmmm!!! I thought the first rules of defence was to keep hands up to protect your head..but then what do I know...

It's the hands low, head high fighting style and relies upon faster reflexes to beat the opponent, I think it suits Quade, I don't think he has an overly powerful punch but he is light footed and has great reflexes...

Muhammad Ali was one of the first boxers to really make this style his own and hasnt been matched since, Roy Jones and Mundine both have similar styles..

He's seen it on the telly, it means your a tuff guy, testament to his late start in boxing - lead leg - all wrong. Anyways it seems that Botha's manager came on TV and said he knew it had been changed to a 10 rounder, but he didn't tell his boxer - what a mug.

The $BW fight was a farce

    Deadset

It's just a shame that QC wasn't knocked into next week but what can you expect when he takes on a hand picked bum to make him look good

The guy even had moobs FFS! I know nothing about boxing, but that "knock out" looked to me like a prod followed by an obedient lay down!

Reckon QC would do great on Dancing with the Stars though.

Without seeing the aftermath it doesn't look any worse than a number of legitimate knockouts I've seen so I'm willing to go with it. That doesn't imply that I have a positive view of the fight itself mind you.

it was the jabs that wore him down. he was already on the way out before he got knocked down the first time.

QC looks like he can do ok in boxing, once he gets his hands right and gets a bit more confidence.
    he got f**king fast hands.
    speed = power.

The slow mo contact shown between Quades fist and the blokes head showed a legitimate contact. There was good follow through. There is actually quite a bit of power behind them. His reflexes are cat like.

The bloke could turn out alright with a lot more training and competition.

Lets hope this has done his confidence the world of good

Qld will be smokin' again this year and so to the wallabies.

he looked quick and strong puncher. but sorry. Definately not a boxer. I HATE that these people with a money and a reputation already can just waltz into Pro Boxing. Geale went through the right way. He boxed as an amateur, 120 or so bouts, then went into pro. These wanna-be-boxers should not be allowed to fight, and if they do, they should fight someone of equal calibre.

The SBW fight was a farce as well. a professional mid-20s pro athlete, versus a 44 year old boxer is just a laugh. botha was looking fat (and he had lost 10kg in the build-up to the fight), if that doesn't say he had stopped fighting, then nothing will. the result of the fight (not the scores) proves that SBW is not a boxer, as if there was one more round, SBW was going down like a sack of shit.

disgraceful, and as the title says, a circus...
