Agree Jargs. It's all about short term fixes for political gain; not long term planning for the benefit of the wider Western Australian community. (Except when it comes to Emperors' palaces!)

Chuck Norris has the greatest Poker-Face of all time. He won the 1983 World Series of Poker, despite holding only a Joker, a Get out of Jail Free Monopoly card, a 2 of clubs, 7 of spades and a green #4 card from the game Uno.

You can't really call Mark McGowan's Kitchener Park idea 'short term' It was crocked 6 years ago when I was being abused by WAFC bouncers for collecting signatures on a public sidewalk and it's crocked today. They haven't changed the design drawings from the original plan, and the original plan was impossible to fund without Rugby, Soccer and Cricket using the stadium to pay for AFL's new field.

I can't imagine it would be any more easy to fund now that Rugby and Soccer (League as well into the future) have an upgraded stadium which will hold 21,000 and possibly more, with a good view of the pitch and reasonable facilities, therefore not wanting to move.

WACA is apparently even less interested in moving to a Multi-Purpose stadium, so they either throw that 6-odd billion directly to AFL or run it at a loss FOREVER!

I'm not calling Burswood necessarily a better location, but the line from McGowan that he'll save the state money by putting the stadium in a location specifically selected for no reason other than winning votes is bullshit.
