With the amount of kicking done by the tahs and rebels players, I thought i was watching Sydney FC v Melb Victory

At least the wallabies found a way to win in the end, otherwise I would have been pissed off for Sharpie like everyone else.

Any news on Leigh Halfpenny? He looked unconscious when he went off. Hope he's okay.

Still no news, it's all a bit strange why there's no updates on him.

Oh goodness - hope that doesn't mean it's a really serious injury

What a terrible game of Rugby - I think Shasta said it best only a moron would continue to do the same thing and expect a different result.

Our backline "attack" had nothing the one time they tried a planned back line move it was snuffed out by the Welsh so hard and so fast it was like they were told it was coming.

    Some questions.

What did Hooper do to get dropped to the Bench?

How much time was wasted in the match for injuries?? With the greatest of respect to Leigh Halfpenny who played his heart out, at least 3 time the Welsh Medical team worked on Halfpenny. He spent half the game running and tackling with an obvious shoulder injury - one arm was pretty much dangling at his side for over a half of the game. Ecky can the Ref order a player from the ground because of injury - or only for head or blood injury?

The Ref had a pretty good game otherwise.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-union/20570491 - doesn't give details of the injury but he is out of hospital, thank goodness.

Don't like to see any rugby player stretchered off, regardless of who they play for.

So glad he's ok. Didn't look good for a while there. He's a great player and will no doubt be back to face us in the Lions tests next year!!

Sorry Exile but I have to take exception to what you wrote there ..... A few observations.

Firstly, the Welsh coaching and medical staff would not leave any player on the field who was in an unfit condition to continue playing.

Secondly, Leigh Halfpenny weighs some 83Kg. Check that out against other players at Super Rugby level, never mind senior International level. Yet he consistently performs well, doesnt shirk from his tackling or running and sometimes takes the knocks that everyone has to at that level of Rugby. He played against the AB's last week - from memory, they're not small guys.

He took a couple of hard knocks yesterday, one of which was when he took a shoulder to the head, but he got up each time and didn't retreat into some hole but carried on with his normal game. The third time he needed attention was at the end of the game when he was carried off.

I recall a recent match stopping a few times for Berrick Barnes ? It was not a good match but that was not because of stoppages to allow attending to injuries.

Finally. Since when is it a waste of time to attend to an injured player ?

I think it was put about before the match that the Coaching staff thought Hooper had played a lot of minutes since Bam's injury so a rest was in order. It's been seen plenty of times before that Pocock is one of those dedicated trainers capable of coming into a top class match and going the 80 mins first up from a spell.

Looks like the coaches will have the same "problem" as those of the Waugh/Smith heydays. Running two top flight fetchers. I think Bam @ around 6ft and 105 kilos can become very a capable blindside. That puts pressure on Higginbotham and Paul to lift their work rate to get off the bench. Admittedly Paulu has lifted his already compared to past seasons.

Agree about Barnes. I thought he was pretty consistant with both the ruck and scrummages. There were a lot of penalties but this time it was down to the players not adapting rather than pedantic reffing.
