Hopefully, the ARU are as consistent with the other non-performing Wallabies.

These are the most important points to come out of the whole saga IMHO.

Absolutely agree. This should not only be about QC. It should be about sending a message to all of them that Wallaby selection is a privilege that has to be earned each and every time. The sense of entitlement that (on the face of it) some of them seem to have needs to be stamped out.

The ARU have done what they believe to be the best thing for Australian Rugby, not what may be seen as the best thing for Wallaby results, and for that I applaud them.
Throughout the JO'NII era we complained of no leadership, soon after he leaves we see it and I like it.
We need billboard players that both kids and mothers can have affinity with, we have the opportunity to rebuild that unique niche in Australian sport where the Club is "family" and love of oneself does not exceed the love of the code.
    Bravo ARU, bravo!

Sadly a very senseless waste of time, resources, oxygen and potential.

The message is crystal clear- to all the battlers, the hard working fringe players, those with heaps less natural talent (and ego) but far more guts, determination, will to succeed and a gonad busting hard work ethic - this a sign that if the hard work is hard enough and the mental fortitude is unwavering, you will be rewarded with success and recognition.

No more red carpets and rose petal throwing nymphs leading the way for egocentric gimps.

The thing at the heart of this, as has been said by many of us many times, is the ridiculous contracting system. Make them earn every single Test with their form and pay them by incentive - ALL of them. Let the franchises deal with contracting. The sooner the better.

Don't forget JoN, Nucifora and his cronies tried to get the great man Sharpe to sign an incentive based contract. Instead of whingeing to the media he got on with his own negotiationss, got a satisfactory outcome - and we have all seen the result.
    Take notice Mr Cooper

There's nowhere in this universe that Khodder Nasser could be described as a "great man" like Sharpie, and as tic says, Cooper is a simple soul, as sharp (scuze the pun) as a bowling ball.

If this is an ambit gambit - perhaps like the tweets - Nasser has seriously misjudged proceedings. There is not the slightest chance Cooper will step into a boxing ring. And as for NRL and all the talk about hiding him in defence bla bla bla, he has not got a single skill that would make him a success in League. His best asset the long raking pass is useless in league, he cannot run with the ball he will get smashed by three hulking behemoths pushing his face into the dirt, he cannot kick it away before the 5th tackle. He certainly cannot tackle. So WTF is he meant to do? Why would anybody pay him $200k let alone more than $600k that makes it worthwhile over his union contract?

The only thing he can do is play union. And the best thing he could do is forget about razzle dazzle or being the star player and just try and assert his will over the attack. He cannot though, because he is an egomaniac.

Incentive contracts are what they all need at test level

Too much of this gravy train shizen

Cooper has the talent. Back yourself son

I disagree that he couldn't make it in mungoes. When they had that gay iron man comp that he won stinking of Rexona, the mungo couldn't put a hand on him in the tackle contest.....Kurt Kidley is no bunny

Cooper would be great in 7 for the mungoes. His pace, stepping and wide passing game would be perfectly suited to mungoes. He'd carve up. A month with Axe Gilmeister would have him tackling properly. The reason he can't tackle is because the wallabies have had defence coaches like the gimpish Phil Blake who was a league speed bump back in the 80's for the shiny @sses from the north shore.

Get muggo back by the way........or the Axe

Cooper needs to swallow his pride, collect the coin at the Reds and rebuild his name with superb perfromances for the Reds and for the wallabies if selected.

It's not how many times you get knocked down in life that matters, it's how many times you get up again.

It's how hard you can get hit and keep moving forwards (thanks Rocky 23)

May I point the misguided Coops to the poem Invictus

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
    For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
    Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

This on TW tonight re QC:

"Quade Cooper will continue to train with Queensland Reds. After lunching with QC today, Reds CEO happy for him to box and play for Reds.

Quade Cooper will become a free agent in order to box as ARU won't allow him to under contract. Likely to re-sign post boxing commitments.

Quade Cooper wants to play for Reds and box and can only do so if he is "uncontracted". Hence the "quitting". Full dts @couriermail tom"

    What the????!!!!
