Quade Cooper cops three match ban, $60k fine for bringing game into disrepute

After a four-hour hearing in front of the ARU Conduct Tribunal, Quade Cooper has been found guilty of two charges of bringing the code into disrepute following his controversial statements.

Cooper has copped a three match ban (suspended for two years), plus a huge up front fine of $40,000, with a further $20,000 suspended for two years.

The fines were for social media comments ($10,000) and social media and general media comments ($50,000), totalling $60,000.

Cooper is expected to deliver a short statement following the announcement of his suspended ban and substantial fine.

Bloody pathetic if you ask me. Knowing that bunch of tossers at HQ they have probably increased his top up to cover it.

I suppose that answers the question of how much is Cooper worth to the ARU.

this is gutless IMO. He's committed treason and it is not the first time. He's not bigger than the team, club, nation or game.

If you mouth off at an official, strike an opponent, or flip the bird, you insult maybe one or two, one ref, one opponent and 1 crowd sledger - but you'll cop more than 4 weeks if you show no remorse.

Fulvio will put me right on this one...Cooper has insulted the Wallabies, the ARU and us fans and shown no remorse. ?????

Apparently he apologised to fans for behaviour "well below par for what it means to be a wallaby."

Seems that's all the remorse you need as far as the ARU are concerned.
