    Question Sign of Madness

If we get this guy and he stays fit, we'll have another bit of mongrel up front with Toby Lynn...

Western Force will today unveil former Wallabies and Queensland Reds forward Hugh McMeniman for the next Super Rugby season.

McMeniman, who was nicknamed "Madness" after playing a Super Rugby game with a shoulder injury that later needed a reconstruction, will be the Force's final forwards signing.

_The West Australian _revealed he was moving from Japanese club Kubota. While the Japanese season doesn't finish until February, it is understood he will be able to join the Force earlier than expected.

New coach Michael Foley will want him to bring a physical presence to the Force from the second row or from the No.6 role.

The Force will be hoping he remains fit after a career so far blighted by injuries.

McMeniman, who went to school with Force and Wallabies flanker Richard Brown, will add to the strong back row that includes Wallabies Matt Hodgson and Ben McCalman and new signing Chris Alcock, who has moved from the NSW Waratahs.

McMeniman made his Super Rugby debut at the Reds in 2005.

In the same year, he was selected for the Wallabies, but the following year suffered his first serious shoulder injury.

Another shoulder injury ruled him out of Super Rugby in 2006. He came back to play in the Wallabies' spring tour, only to be carried from the ground eight minutes into the first game with a neck injury.

His 2007 appearances were restricted by two knee injuries, but he still won a place in the Wallabies' Rugby World Cup squad and played four of the five matches.
In 2008 he played two Super games, played for Australia A in the Pacific Nations Cup and regained his place for five more Tests.

Could be a good pick up. That maybe why they signed the Chinese olympic Team physio to keep him on the paddock. I sense something else with only signing him for 1 year. Or is there a 1 year option should he stay together. Interesting that Toby Lynn and him are only signed for 2013.
