2013 COACHING DREAM TEAM SECURED AT BAYSIE

Perth-Bayswater RUFC is delighted to welcome former NZ Maori Coach and NPC High Performance Manager Donny Stevenson to the position of premier grade co-coach for the 2012 season.

Donny will be sharing the role with Perth-Bayswater's 2007 premiership-winning coach, John 'JT' Taylor.

A former Auckland and North Auckland representative player, Donny has a Diploma in Physical Education from Otago University and a background as a high school physed teacher, before turning pro as high performance manager and liaison officer for the Northland Rugby Union. Donny spent four years as an NPC assstant coach and two years as NPC high performance manager before going on to four years as NZ Maori assistant coach and finally three years as NZ Maori coach.

The club is extremely fortunate to have been able to secure the services of a coach with Donny's outstanding credentials, to join a proven performer and a great contributor to the club's playing future in JT.

The club looks forward to a bright future in the 2013 season under Donny and JT, and aims to secure a number of key players to further improve the advances made by a committed core playing group in 2012 under outgoing coach Dean Carlisle, who has resigned from the position due to business pressures.

It is all probably just rumours as there are surrounding the end of every season but I have heard from a few board members of different clubs about players they are targeting from bayswater.
    What have you heard goony?

I know a few of the boys have fielded offers from elsewhere, some of them which are quite appealing - but i'm not sure if it is enough to cover not being able to work for a few months...

I think the fact that Baysie have secured a decent coach will encourage players to stick around despite the fact they didn't have a good 2012 season. Any guys that do piss off, you're probably better off without.

So Dean wasn't a decent coach then?

Does Galls have a role somewhere in the Baysie coaching?

Dean is a very good coach and i dont think the season was that bad alot of injurys and alot of almost games. Much like to 2011 force season so many close games that a could have gone both ways but we always seemed to be on the wrong side. 5 games lost with in 7 we can only learn from a season like this.

Anyways to Dean thanks for all the hard work over the years and hopefully see you down the club.

Where did it say Dean wasn't a decent coach? He has resigned due to business committments - he is well respected amongst the club and although this year didn't go the best for the team I wouldn't put that down to what he did or didn't do as a coach.

In regards to Galls i am not sure what he has planned for next year, but if he remained within the club that would be awesome as he is a good coach and an even better bloke!

The rumour going around is that Goony will be coaching in the near future. So much experience from the general.
