no, but the greatest captain in recent time agreeing that there is something seriously wrong with the set up of the ARU and the wallabies might carry a bit more weight than an under performing halfback. and generate enough headwind to finally have something done about it

I think this is a well worked out plan by Cooper and his management team for him to switch codes and blame it on the ARU. Not that I can see him making a big impact in League.

Disenchanted Quade Cooper eyes code switch to NRL due to his untenable relationship with ARU

Quade Cooper will almost certainly walk away from rugby at the end of the year to pursue a career in the NRL.

Cooper's frustrations with the ARU are believed to be untenable, and his desire to play alongside Sonny Bill Williams will lead him to make a code switch.

Williams has been linked to the Roosters for 2013, and Cooper could be pitched to them as part of a dual package by agent Khoder Nasser, who manages both players.

Cooper has no professional background in league.

Cooper will appear on Fox Sports on Thursday night and is expected to further outline his complaints about the "toxic environment" within the ARU and the Wallabies' set-up.

The Wallabies' shifting game plans have harmed Cooper's development as an elite player and led to his disenchantment with Test rugby, former Australia coach Eddie Jones says.


The 24-year-old has indicated in recent days his displeasure with the game plans used by Australia's coach Robbie Deans, and also how the game is being run by the ARU.

Cooper was offered a deal by the ARU some time ago but has not signed the contract.

It is understood there has not even been any negotiation between the parties for months, despite Cooper agreeing to a further three years with Queensland in June.

Interesting article. I don't know why otherwise rational people think Cooper can just walk into a RL contract. His injury status plus his chicken shit attitude to tackling & taking a hit make him too much of a risk. That article hints @ a package with SBW & that may be the only way.
I heard Greg Alexander (Penrith board member & Fox commentator) yesterday saying he's a dud prospect for exactly those reasons. He valued him @ about $200 G. That's what comex from getting your ambition in front of your capability.
