We would bring in more fans and more public awareness if we had better FTA coverage. As it stands there are a handful of tests televised every year. The Europe and RSA tests are in the middle of the night in Australia. June tests are typically not televised live in WA. There are no dedicated rugby programs. We need either significantly better coverage of International matches or a televised 3rd tier. I wonder what Super Rugby might have been if it had been FTA from the start of the Super 12. What effect would a 1999 RWC win and a 2003 RWC hosting and grand final appearance have had on viewing?
