Head Coach, Forward's Coach & Attack Coach....

I mentioned in another post that by some chance we snag Foley from the Tahs we then have the makings of a strong trifecta should RWA buy into the future. This being Foley as head coach, Stiles as forwards coach and as a solid smokie - Meehan as attack coach. He has the runs on the board and would be an all aussie line up.

do you actually think that this is any chance of happening or just wishful thinking ? I doubt Rugby WA have to ability to actually plan ahead.

In my head this is how I see things at rugby wa going down:

VERN: Have they sorted out a coach yet?

VERN'S PA: That was one of your jobs sir.

VERN: Shit you right! Which Teams did better than us this year?

VERN'S PA: Well those guys with lots of money in Sydney did, I think they even beat us at home.

VERN: Yeah I think your right they always do good I think. Righto offer him a free airfair (WE CAN CLAIM IT ON TAX) and a meat hamper to coach us next year.

VERN'S PA: What if he says no?

VERN: Why The Fuck Would he say no?

VERN’S PA: Just thinking ahead sir.

VERN: You don’t get payed to think ahead just send him the hamper!

VERN’S PA: Yes Sir. What about the issue with David Pocock?

VERN: Fuck that guy, get me Simon Poidevin’s number he was a real flanker! Send him a Chrismans hamper one from last year, I recon that will do it. I’m going on holidays send me an email if you need me!

Whats with the "snag Foley from Tahs"? Snag?? Makes it sound like a lucky catch FFS.

If by some mischance we do end up with Foley it is an unmitigated disaster on every conceivable level.

Anyway, the conversation probably went like this:

VERNS PA: Sir, Chieka is not returning calls
VERN: Well it was always a folley, going after him.
VERNS PA: Certianly Sir, I'll get right on it

I would take Meehan at the drop of a hat. Hell I reckon he would make a good enough head coach.

With his CV, I doubt that he would be interested in an assistant coaching role.

My apologies for the slip of the tongue with snagging Foley. I went back over some information on Steve Meehan and unless someone has anything solid I would put this guy up with Stiles as his assistant. Why the hell we need a "name" has got me. Didn't they chase Rob Penney first up. So he was an unknown but had a solid track record that is why he was hired overseas. Meehan and Stiles are the team that could set us on the right path.

There is good news to be announced. RWA are waiting for the AFL finals to finish so it can get some media space. The West editor won't run any Force stories until then.
Apart from coaches and players being announced i hear RWA is going to try and engage more with it's members and supporters in an attempt to restabilise the place and be more transparent in it's inner workings. More to come next week.
