Would be a silly move by the Force to put a deadline on a player to re-sign to a team which doesn't yet have a coach for the following season.

There is very strong mail coming from the west that Force skipper David Pocock will sign with the Brumbies. His partner, Emma Palandri, was in Canberra during the week being shown the sights and it looks certain the stand-in Wallabies skipper will take his talents to the national capital next season, especially considering his preferred choice as Force coach, Michael Cheika, is set to turn down the Perth franchise's overtures.

Don't worry lads, we've as good as got it won. Canberra is a sh1thole. In July it would have been cold and windy. It is full of public servants who wouldn't work in an iron lung. It's a long way from the beach. Mrs Pocock will be sure she doesn't want to live there now.

The only advice David need to listen to

Happy wife, happy life. Don't ever forget it son

    It's cheaper to keep her
