    Indonesian Skipper Heading to Oz

I know there are a few of us on here with Indonesian ties... UQ are the reigning Australian Club Champions.

Stephen Barber, PRUI Sponsorship & Marketing

Daniel Nugroho the current Captain of the Indonesian National Rugby Team, the Rhinos is heading down to Brisbane, Australia in early August to train and play Rugby. Daniel will be joining up with my former club, the University of Queensland Rugby Football Club, which is located on UQ's St. Lucia campus. UQ Rugby also known as the 'Red Heavies' is one of Brisbane's premiere Rugby clubs with a long history of success. The club has produced many Queensland Reds and Wallabies, including Mark Loane, Duncan Hall, Michael Lynagh, as well as current Wallabies Stephen Moore, Mike Harris, Nathan Sharpe and James Horwill.

After Daniel first asked me if I could help in getting down to Australia it has been a great honour in helping him firstly make contact with David Enfantie from UQ Rugby and then to assist him in working David Gavin and others from the Australian Embassy in Jakarta in order to get the necessary visa for his entry into Australia.

Apart from playing Rugby whilst in Brisbane, Daniel will also study English at BNIT.

Although the Rugby season will conclude in September, Daniel said to me that he is happy as, "he now gets to play Rugby at a higher level".

Good luck Daniel in your new role as an Indonesian Rugby Ambassador in Australia.

I suppose the wording was a bit ambiguous... the original headline said "Rhinos Skipper" but I figured people would think of the Leeds rugby league team.
