Respect for the Axe, but that's the best 'brains trust' you can come up with?

Why would he want to stay? If you believe the press, both Brumbies and Rebels are after him. Why would he not go to the Brumbies and choose to stay here?

    2) Apart from that, it is clear we need not put all of our faith in Ebersohn and try to get some options (not depth - that would be asking too much) for the 10/12 positions.

3)Apart from that we need to not rest our laurels in the assumption we have the 4,5 and 8 covered with cattle.

4)Apart from that we could rely on RugbyWA to get the ARU concessions they seem to be working on. We know how good they are at working on things, hey?

    There's more, but that's a start.

    Discuss.
    1) If Pocock loves the Force half as much as we do he will stay. If he loves the Force a quarter as much as we do, he will stay given a decent coach and some clear organisational direction. If he loves the Force any less than that well then tough titties. Matt Hodgson is a good openside flanker and we actually lose a bit by playing both Pocock and Hodgson simultaneously.

    2) If the Force management are sensible, we will use Ebersohn as a first choice and keep Seymour and Godwin as works in progress. I'd be interested to see how Seymour goes at inside centre. Or Alfie Mafi and having a ball playing 15.

    3) We definitely need a high quality lock. We should get a lock for the EPS since Wykes can play in the backrow too. Where exactly they will come from will be the tough question. Will Caldwell has apparently made a comeback. You'd hope that some of the guys we've lost over the years like McMeniman, Daniel Heenan, Pat O'Connor. Don't know what their contract situation is though. It might be worth using up our marquee slot on this one.

    4) I reckon the Force will be able to get at least one additional player allowed before next season. I think that player would definitely have to be a 9. Depth of 9s is about as thin as locks.

Re point 4 James. I'm convinced the force won't get a single concession towards actually becoming competitive whilst John O'Neill is in office.

Not sure why, but he seems determined upon destroying rugby in the west.

Looks like we'll get an extra development slot.

Considering we were going to expend our marquee slot as a developing player slot and pick up Piet van Zyl who is a scrum-half from the Cheetahs, I think a 9 is still on our radar. We will need one too because this will almost definitely be Sheehan's last year with us.
