    Associates in stunning comeback

Nedlands' unbeaten run was brought to a halt with a stunning second-half comeback by Associates in the RugbyWA top-of-the-table clash.

Leading 23-3 at the break, Ned-lands had their 12th game in the bag but the visitors scored 22 unanswered points with Western Force fly-half Kyle Godwin converting a try five minutes from time to seal the victory.

The boot of Michael Botes and two tries from Cameron Crowley had Nedlands in the driving seat before the dramatic second-half turnaround, with Associates scoring three tries in the opening 10 minutes of the second period.

As time ticked away, Associates withstood a Nedlands onslaught of 23 phases and coach Andy Cole was delighted.

"It's fantastic to come to the foreshore and defeat Nedlands," he said. "We were very loose in the first half and they punished our mistakes but the players res- ponded to my half-time address and came out like a new side."

Nedlands, who brought six players back from injury, are still six points clear at the top of the table.
In other matches, there were wins for Wests Subiaco, University, Cottesloe and Palmyra over Perth Bayswater, Rockingham, Kalamunda and Wanneroo Districts.

It seems Godwin and Cottrell have immersed themselves in the Force culture - losing the first half only to fight back in the second. Of course, they missed the other part, apart then blowing the lead in the final 5 minutes, but hey, they're young, they'll learn!
