    Force v Brumbies

Well are the boys going to pull one out the bag for Sharpie?
I would love to think so but I don't think we have the attack. Defence against a forward attack we will hold out but one on one I have my doubts.
I will place my usual bets on The Force to win but....
Come on boys and give us a game to remember!

In a different post someone mentioned how the bye game was against some South Australian hastily put-together team whereas the Brumbies played some international team, right?

Well, I'd have thought the "opposed training" game would be the ideal build up to train in combinations, especially attacking bank line stuff.

That's what I'm banking on for this game.

    Here's hoping!

Agree Ecky, and to go to a trial game and get bashed does nothing for a winning mindset.

Grown-up Brumbies keen to Force the issue

The Canberra crowd booed their defensive game plan in the season opener, but the ACT Brumbies have quickly developed into Australia's leading team since that narrow round-one victory over the Western Force.
They won their season opener against the Force 19-17 at Canberra Stadium and have since climbed to the top of Super Rugby's Australian conference table to bring a drought-breaking finals appearance within reach.
The Brumbies travel to Perth to face an ''emotional'' Force, buoyed by Wallabies legend Nathan Sharpe playing his last home game at nib Stadium before his retirement.

Brumbies lock Scott Fardy spent 2008 with the Force but couldn't find his way into the team, although he was named 23rd man on several occasions. He's now an important cog in Jake White's forward pack since coming off the bench to make his Super Rugby debut against the Force earlier this year.
It's a path shared with the Brumbies team as a whole - coming from obscurity to the top of the Australian conference tree.
There were times in the season opener when the Brumbies' defensive game plan raised the ire of the Canberra crowd.
But it would be hard to imagine the fans booing the team now.
''We were pretty limited [in that first game] compared with what we're trying to do now,'' Fardy said.
''We've expanded our options three-fold. We kicked a lot in that game with the crowd booing us a bit and carrying on … if everyone plays their role and does their job, I think we'll be all good.''
Fardy will go head-to-head with his old mentor Sharpe. In 2008, Fardy was a No.6 but he still learned a lot from the big, bald-headed Wallaby.
''We didn't get much of a chance [to work with him] when he was at Wallabies,'' he said. ''It was only a small season when I was there but he was a good influence in my career.
''He's someone that I look up to as a footballer, he's always been great and I think he's one of our greatest Wallabies … I look forward to playing anyone. He's one of the best though, so you always look forward to coming up against the best.''
Fardy isn't the only Brumby to have established himself this season - outside centre Andrew Smith has a similar tale. He's made the No.13 jersey his own and has grown in confidence along with his teammates.
The Brumbies started with a defensive game plan and have built a potent attack over the top.

"There were times in the season opener when the Brumbies' defensive game plan raised the ire of the Canberra crowd."

All part of the Jake White Grand Plan. EWF crowd would've been the same, but we'd soon be onside with a decent coach that actually has a plan that brings about a winning culture. Winning ugly intially is just fine by me.

Well all the best to Sharpe for his last Force home game, he's been a giant in Australian rugby... But no one here will be surprised when I say Go the Brumbies...
