Great News: Nick Stiles extends contract

In further good news for the Force I have just read in The West not yet on line that Nick Stiles has extended his contract as forwards coach.

He has done a great job with the forwards so far, glad to see the faith.

Another hint in the direction of Poey staying further? Sure hope so

The Head coach must already be sorted. Theres no way a assistant would have a contract renewal without the authorityof a head coach.

    You'd think so.

It also likely indicates that our new coach will be a backs coach since Stiles covers forwards and set pieces. So I think Cheika is definitely out of the picture.

That was my first thought. Probably points to a coach who is still fulfilling commitments too.

You would hope that the head coach has been sorted if they are re-signing assistant coaches

Rugby WA said the re-signing was about to take place prior to RG being asked to leave. The ensuing fallout ensured everything was delayed. (I think the message is - it's got nothing to do with a new head coach). If that's the case it would be interesting if the new Head Coach said - "I can't work with him,".

There is not the slightest chance they would appoint an assistant without the permission of the head coach

I'm not a lawyer but if a firm offer was made before RG jumped ship - and has been formally accepted does that tie RugbyWA's hands??

If so, would the next Head Coach have to accept it as part of his contract??
