I say good lick to the Reds, Cooper seems to be a serial drunk who has pretty good attack, you match that up with two blokes (at least) who can't keep their word and a bunch of fair weather supporters I'm happy to stay with the force.

Cooper wouldn't fit with the force, our backline defense is bad enough as it is. I assume the three years will be end weighted so that they can fit him under the cap and still maintain a 30 man squad.

    Great point SB.

They will get a token wrap over the knuckles. But it wouldn't hurt for all of us to pen an e mail and ask whether the same standard will apply as was set with Henjak. CC to the dead heads at TRC and SMH. See whether they even mention that.

After the reactin to my string of strongly worded emails about Tim horan's input into Geniagate I can tell you exactly how much attention they will pay to it.

Some petitions don't get the government funding approved any sooner.

Maybe not but they can help nudge a Rugby board away from going in the wrong direction.

I hadn't looked at the lineup this week and saw Beale walk out to the pitch, was outraged. Have the ARU released anything saying he's contract didn't get shredded because he was not in the pub on said night, that he was the one who got hit rather than the hitter, anything? Or do we just allowed raging pub brawlers to represent our country without resolving issues about trying to beat the crap out of bouncers.

I'm already drafting the abusive email to the ARU in my mind. There is such a rotten culture developing in this team, the fights, the laptops, the sleeping in for team photos. I'm seriously unimpressed.

A kick in this game is like a rather nasty alcoholic shooter, only as good as it's chaser...

I think Beale shouldn't have been considered for selection for this Test..

However in response to your questions, yes the ARU have spoken about the subject, and no i disagree that Beale's contract should be torn up since he has only been charged at this time, not prosecuted for it.

"While natural justice demands any player is innocent until proven guilty, we believe there is justification to stand down any player who has a disciplinary hearing pending.

"The game is bigger than individuals. Disciplinary matters need to be taken seriously and dealt with accordingly, and in isolation, regardless of the team dynamics."

Thus spoke Australian Rugby Union boss John O'Neill through the pages of The Sydney Morning Herald on February 13, 2008, in an interview with respected sports journalist Rupert Guinness following an incident in which then Western Force halfback Matt Henjak assaulted teammate Haig Sare in an East Fremantle cafe bar. He was subsequently found guilty by a Force disciplinary committee.

And now this: "That is a matter that will be dealt with through the courts. Until such time as there is a resolution, there is no reason why he shouldn't play.

"Let's not pre-judge the outcome. Common assault is by definition ... I'm not condoning it ... but it is not at the serious end of the scale. Are we concerned about that incident? Of course, we are, but I think it's better for all parties Kurtley plays rugby." Yes, you guessed it, O'Neill again.

This second statement, as sharp-eyed readers would have quickly realised, relates to an incident at a Brisbane hotel that led to Wallabies fullback Kurtley Beale this month being charged by Queensland police with assault. Beale has not faced trial and until he does the ARU's own investigation of his actions will be held in abeyance. But, in stark contrast with his stance on the Henjak matter, O'Neill told esteemed colleague Bret Harris on Wednesday that was no reason why Beale shouldn't play in this afternoon's Third Test against Wales in Sydney.

    Typically consistent from John O'Neil.

Consistently making the decision that will result in the most short term money regardless of it's impct on the credibility of the game.

Beale played a shocker...so what goes comes around in the long run!! He still should NOT have played...IMHO!
Deans described Beale's standard of play in the after match interview "A little rusty!"...hmmm mm!
