Nick Smith is taking over from Mark White at RugbyWA as the new Media and Communications Manager. He's a born and bred Canberran, but don't hold that against him ...

He started of as a journo in Canberra, then spent 4 years with the Brumbies (plus a few Wallabies tours) as Media Manager, is a rugby commentator with ABC radio, and has played spin doctor for the Tax Office and Australian Federal Police.

Throw a degree in sports media and a reputation for strategic planning, brand management and crisis management into the mix and I think (assuming rumblings of the boards interference and micro-management aren't as bad as we hear) we can expect to see a few changes in what, when and how we get our information ...

I was going to put something about having his work cut out ....because of bad press suggested re recent events concerning last year's Award's night auction...but coach would have taken it off I think..
