    80/20 Jumper 2012

Just picked this up in the latest press release.

The Emirates Western Force will be auctioning off the jerseys worn by the team on Saturday night with all proceeds going to Captain David Pocock’s charity Eightytwenty Vision. Pocock will model the jersey at training on Thursday morning and will be available for comment.

Chuck Norris has the greatest Poker-Face of all time. He won the 1983 World Series of Poker, despite holding only a Joker, a Get out of Jail Free Monopoly card, a 2 of clubs, 7 of spades and a green #4 card from the game Uno.

No it was not, auctioned off, however I (and I think Jono) purched one on ebay a few weeks ago. The only two I know of that were not auctioned.

What are the training times and place for training tomorrow - force website hasn't been updated. Maybe they're having secret sessions to avoid hecklers. hehehehe! As iiiifff!

Perhaps this is a contract sweetener for Pocock to re-sign with the Force. We can hope.

    ill mention 2 things:

1st - We have NEVER won a game with a commemorative jersey (got touched up by the Sharks in the Pink strip / Lost to the Tahs in that awful design of a crayon jumper / and if you want to be picky we lost in our first jersey, both the blue > white > and yellow version --- commemorative to a collector like me)

2nd thing -- Pocock hasn't resigned with the Force yet, but I ask every1 this question. If you were fundraising for your NFP organisation would you get any special treatment from the "big wigs" at your paying employer.. Majority of the time, management would give you the cold shoulder... Pocock needs to realise, the Force are helping him and his organisation out immensly they dont need to... So remember to think about this Pocock when its time for weigh up your options on where to play and what you get not just out of rugby !!

When I watched my recording of saturdays game I heard commentators say that we have only won 2 of our last 13 games at home so you're pretty safe listing games we have lost, the jersey having nothing to do with it.

Not sure I agree with this either Benny, I think a lot of employers would jump on board for a good cause especially when it doesn't cost them much and they are able to bask in the public recognition that they are supporting a worthwhile charity. Whichever way you look at it, it's good PR for the Force.

Below is the first 3 paragraphs from Rugby WA's Charities page:-

"RugbyWA and the Emirates Western Force select two charities every two years that provide both a substantial contribution to the community as well as fitting with RugbyWA’s ethos and values.

Out of the two aligned charities selected, one is chosen by the Emirates Western Force players with the second being chosen as the best fit with the organisation.

The Emirates Western Force are supporting Ronald McDonald House and David Pocock’s charity Eightytwenty Vision for the 2011 and 2012 seasons."
