    Shepherd to sue UK club

THE manager of Cameron Shepherd has launched a stinging attack at UK Northampton club and coach Jim Mallinder after announcing the former Wallaby would sue the club for cancelling a contract for "fabricated" medical reasons.

Shepherd signed a three-year deal with Northampton in May but the Saints last week cancelled the contract, saying Shepherd had failed a medical due to the condition of his previously injured left ankle.

The ex-Wallaby fullback was snapped up by rival UK club Sale yesterday but manager Nick Fordham said he was "completely appalled" by Northampton's actions, and his client had launched legal proceedings.....http://www.perthnow.com.au/sport/rug...-1226451474028

I figured his wrist was still knackered but they rejected him on the state of his ankle. Sounds like they didn't do their homework before signing him and once they learnt of his past couple of seasons tried to back out.

I hope Sheps wins the case.

That was not a very good turn of phrase, on reflection. Cam Shepherd and "brace" should not be used in the same sentence.

That sounds like the lamest PR jargon. I think they are guilty as sin and are screwed.

Rugby-wise maybe. But I bet he's way worse off financially, in the short term at least. Due diligence should easily have uncovered Cam's injury woes. I hope he at least makes up some of what they promised him.
